Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrate Mother's Day with sweet new photo of Archie

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have celebrated Mother’s Day with royal fans in the sweetest way – by releasing a new photo of their son Archie.

The adorable photo was posted to social media to mark Duchess Meghan’s first official Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on Sunday in the United States, where the royal member used to live – in the UK it was on March 31.

The sweet message read: “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you.”

Princess Diana’s favourite flowers, forget-me-nots, were pictured below baby Archie’s feet.

The first child to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan was welcomed to the world a week ago and was shown to the public several hours after his birth.

Mike Tindall, husband of Zara Tindall, who is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, says he found out of the arrival of little Archie via the messaging app, WhatsApp.

“He'll be a great dad. Obviously, he's godfather to (his youngest daughter with Zara) Lena, but we've got a great group of young ones in the family now,” he said to the Telegraph.

Mike said that despite his intense and busy schedule, the prince “has been great” with his own children, Mia, 5, and Lena, 10 months.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex topped off the heartwarming post of their tiny tot with a moving poem by acclaimed poet, Nayyirah Waheed.

“My mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived,” the message finished.
