Why is art important?
By definition, art is the “conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects,” according to Merriam-Webster.
The truth is, many people know and understand what art is and the weight it holds in society – people will spend millions just to own an abstract production of the mind for a number of reasons. The factors behind people choosing to pursue art, whether it’s a full-time or a side hobby, are contributors as to why art is important.
As Leo Tolstoy once said: “Art is the activity by which a person, having experienced an emotion, intentionally transmits it to others.”
