Dolly Parton and James Patterson to release a novel
From singing hit country songs to contributing to COVID-19 vaccine research, Dolly Parton has a diversified set of skills.
In her latest venture, the songstress has teamed up with bestselling author James Patterson to pen her first-ever fiction novel, due to be released on March 7, 2022.
The novel, Run, Rose, Run, is a thriller that follows a young woman on the run who moves to Nashville to pursue her dreams as a singer-songwriter and will do anything it takes to survive.
When she announced her debut novel, the star shared a photo of herself with the legendary novelist, as well as a picture of the book’s front cover.
“I cannot be more excited about the release of my very first novel #RunRoseRun with @jamespattersonbooks,” she captioned the post.
Alongside the novel, Dolly plans to release a companion LP of new music based on the characters and situations in the novel.
“I hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together,” she concluded.
Just two days before making the announcement on social media, Dolly hinted at the idea on Book Lovers Day, disclosing her dream of writing her own novel.
“The seeds of dreams are often found in books, and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world,” she captioned a retro snap of herself holding a book.
“I dream of writing my own novel one day 😉”.
Previously, Dolly has written autobiographical books, including Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, which was released last year.
The famed singer has also started a weekly YouTube series called Goodnight with Dolly, where she reads children’s books for kids who are stuck at home and bored during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Run, Rose, Run is now available to preorder from Patterson’s website, as well as other bookstores.
