Inside the farm that inspired “Charlotte’s Web”
Are you a fan of the iconic children’s book Charlotte’s Web? Do you have a spare US$3.7 million lying around? If so, you could get your hands on the very farm that inspired E.B. White’s 1952 tale.
Located in in Brooklin in the US state of Maine, the gorgeous 44-acre farm (which dates back to the 1700s) is home to the exact barn from which White drew inspiration for the book – and when you see it, you’ll completely understand why.
For the past 30 years, ever since its famous owner passed away, the picturesque property has been in the hands of Robert and Mary Gallant, married 60 years, who have maintained many of the estate’s original historic features.
