Catherine Zeta-Jones' heartfelt tribute to Michael Douglas on 17th wedding anniversary
Over the weekend, Hollywood stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary.
In honour of the special milestone, Catherine posted a heartfelt tribute to her husband alongside a never-before-seen photo from their wedding day.
The pair wed at the Plaza Hotel in New York on November 18th, 2000.
The 48-year-old actress wrote, “17 years ago today, I said ‘I do’ to my best friend and father of our two and a half month old son.”
"Thought it could never get better than that day, but it did. Happy anniversary darling, Michael."
Catherine added, "With you, in my life, and Dylan and Carys, every day could be a twelve hour fantastic party at the Plaza in New York. Love you. #love #lovestrong."
Michael then posted a photo of the pair to his Facebook page and wrote, “Happy 17th anniversary my darling!"
Catherine and Michael are the proud parents to son Dylan Douglas, 17, and daughter Carys Douglas, 14.
The couple’s love has endured over the years even in the face of hardship.
In 2010, Michael was diagnosed with tongue cancer and Catherine has battled with bipolar disorder.
In 2011 and 2013, Catherine checked into hospital to seek help for bipolar and depression, before separating from her husband.
The couple worked together to restore their relationship and got back together in 2014.
“We had a little bump in the road. The problem in this business is that everything is so public," Michael told the Daily Mail in 2015.
"I love Catherine as much, more than I ever have. And hopefully the feeling's mutual. We worked things out – if both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can't do it if it's just one person."
