“Come with me if you want to live”: Arnie's plea goes viral
Hollywood legend and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarznegger has posted a message for those hesitant to get the COVID-19 jab.
The 73-year-old took to Facebook to encourage people to get the vaccine for the good of themselves and everyone else, which has gone viral.
Schwarznegger has famously pushed for people in the US to accept any vaccine available to them in order to get the pandemic under control.
In his post, he highlighted the importance of listening to experts and not unreliable online sources.
He said, “I always say you should know your strengths and listen to the experts. If you want to learn about building biceps, listen to me.”
“Dr. Fauci and all of the virologists and epidemiologists and doctors have studied diseases and vaccines for their entire lives, so I listen to them and I urge you to do the same. None of us are going to learn more than them by watching a few hours of videos.”
He went on to express the importance of not relying on misinformation about the COVID jab, and for people to admit they don’t know as much as the experts.
“Some people say it is weak to listen to experts. That’s bogus. It takes strength to admit you don’t know everything. Weakness is thinking you don’t need expert advice and only listening to sources that confirm what you want to believe.”
The post has seen new light with high-profile figures such as columnist Piers Morgan, American journalist Brooke Cain and championship basketballer Rex Chapman all resposting the important message.
The post comes after Schwarenegger’s video of him getting vaccinated also went viral in January.
He got his jab at a drive-through vaccination site in Los Angeles, and encouraged others to do the same saying, “Come with me if you want to live.”
