Matt Damon’s heartbreak over dad’s cancer battle
Hollywood star Matt Damon has revealed his father Kent’s ongoing cancer battle has worsened.
"It's been a slow, unfolding, my dad's sick, so that's been a process we're going through. We'll take any prayers you got, so throw 'em up there," Damon told Extra on Monday.
Damon first revealed his father, 74, was diagnosed with cancer back in 2011.
At the time, he said his dad was in remission after undergoing treatment for a rare blood disease called multiple myeloma.
"We've lost some close personal friends to cancer in recent years, but I never thought it would happen to my dad, the marathon runner. It sucked," Damon said at the time.
Damon, who is currently starring in the new film "Downsizing," has cancelled public appearances in recent months to be by his dad’s side in his Massachusetts hometown.
