Meet the over-90s swim team who just broke the age record
Meet John Sheridan, 92, Ossie Doherty, 91, Ray McGimpsey, 90, and Max Van Gelder, 87.
Hailing from Sydney's northern beaches, these four men with a combined age of 360 years have just completed a 4x50-metre relay, and achieved the national age record at the NSW Masters Swimming Championships at Homebush.
The awesome foursome dedicated their swim to former team member, John-William Steen, who died the day before their first attempt in 2016.
"This was for John," Van Gelder told ABC News.
"[Swimming] is what made John a happy chappy. It was his life."
