Serena Williams asks for parenting advice for her little girl: "It's breaking my heart"

On Sunday, Serena Williams revealed how her 3-month old daughter Alexis Olympia is suffering through teething.

The tennis champion shared on Instagram, “Teething – aka the devil – is so hard. Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable. She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep. I’ve tried amber beads… cold towels…. chew on mommies fingers…. homeopathic water (lol on that one) but nothing is working. It’s breaking my heart.”

While her newborn girl is suffering, Serena explained that she is also feeling exhausted.

She continued, “I almost need my mom to come and hold me to sleep cause I’m so stressed. Help? Anyone??”

Fans were quick to share different remedies that had worked for them including Baby Orajel to letting Alexis chew on frozen fruit.

The 36-year-old athlete previously called out to social media for advice after she revealed she had a hard time thinking about when she has to stop breastfeeding.

“Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed?” she asked on Twitter, alongside an adorable photo of her daughter resting in her arms. “Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop?"

Many mums shared their own experiences including Broadway star Audra McDonald.

“I nursed my older daughter until she was almost 2. Still going with my 1 year old right now,” she tweeted. “You’ll know when it’s time to stop. Enjoy! She is beautiful!”

Alexis Olympia was born on September 1 and was named after Serena’s husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

While Serena has been enjoying motherhood, she will make a competitive comeback to tennis in 2018 to defend her title at the Australian Open.

In October, tournament director Craig Tiley confirmed the star is “planning" on playing in January.

“Serena will be back,” Tiley said, according to Sports Illustrated. “We look forward to welcoming her and again go on that journey of breaking the all-time record for the most number of Grand Slams.”
