Kate Middleton spotted for the first time since surgery

Kate Middleton has been seen for the first time in over six weeks, as she continues to recover from a "planned abdominal surgery".

The Princess of Wales was last seen by the public attending mass on Christmas Day before being admitted to hospital in early January for the procedure.

Despite Kensington Palace sharing that the princess wouldn't be returning to royal duties until after Easter, rumours began to swirl online over her whereabouts.

Now, the 42-year-old royal has been photographed in a car alongside her mother Carole in Windsor.

As rumours continued to run rampant online about Kate's wellbeing following her surgery, Kensington Palace was forced to interfere and debunk the wild accusations.

After "Where is Kate Middleton?" was trending worldwide on social media, due to her not being in the public eye for an unprecedented amount of time, the Palace reiterated their original statement following Kate's surgery, saying she was simply at home recovering.

“We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant,” the statement read.

"That guidance stands."

The Palace also added that Kate is well on the road to recovery as she is "doing well", and with all things going to plan with her health, she can be expected to be seen in public after Easter, as they originally made clear.
