Meghan Markle's sweet gesture ahead of Prince Philip's funeral
The Duchess of Sussex was able to speak with Queen Elizabeth before the funeral of her husband, it has been claimed.
Meghan was not given permission to fly to England by her doctors due to the late stage of her pregnancy.
But she did watch the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral via a special livestream set up for the extended family and friends who could not be there in person.
Due to COVID-19, the chapel could only have 30 people inside for the farewell.
Meghan sent her respects from afar.
A source close to the couple says Meghan and her son Archie "spoke to with the Queen" before the funeral on Saturday.
She had also sent a hand-written note to be attached to a floral wreath laid new the coffin of Prince Philip, featuring carefully selected flowers full of meaning.
Speaking to People, the insider said that Meghan had been speaking to Harry every day since his arrival in London on April 11.
"[Meghan] knows the trip to England has been difficult for Harry," the source added.
"He didn't want to leave Meghan and Archie alone."
Prince Harry is now back in Montecito, having arrived on Tuesday afternoon local time.
He landed on US soil and was quickly driven back to Meghan and Archie.
