“You’ve got this!” Johnny Ruffo shares brain cancer update

Johnny Ruffo has shared images from his radiation treatment as he fights brain cancer for a second time.

In November 2020, the 33-year-old revealed that his brain cancer had returned following a "week of seizures." He was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017, and underwent life-saving surgery to successfully remove a seven centimetre tumour at the time.

"Another round of radiation on the cards ☢️ still fighting this mofo!! #f--kcancer," Ruffo wrote on Instagram late last night.

Johny is pictured wearing a white plastic mesh mask across his whole face, which is designed to keep his head still while he undergoes radiation treatment. It's known as an immobilisation mask, and is quite tight-fitting.

Ruffo's post was flooded with comments of support from fans and Aussie stars, including well-wishes sent by Home and Away cast members Georgie Parker, Jake Speer and Emily Symons.

"Keep going son 💪🏻💪🏻," Speer wrote.

Today Extra host David Campbell commented, "Smash it brother. You got this."

Roxy Jacenko, meanwhile, wrote, "You've got this [Johnny Ruffo] ❤"️

In November 2020, Ruffo shared on Instagram that his brain cancer had returned.

"After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned," Ruffo wrote at the time.

"Though I will dig deep and beat this s--t disease again 👊🏽💜 #f--kcancer."

He has since appeared in good spirits as he undergoes treatment, thanking his fans for their support.
