Jennifer Aniston celebrates 54th birthday with rare throwback pic
Jennifer Aniston has thrown birthday celebrations all the way back to her childhood in a sweet Instagram post.
The actress commemorated her 54th birthday with a never-before-seen picture of the star as a child, standing by the sea with her parents.
“Thinking about these two humans that created me as I bask in the afterglow of a beautiful birthday,” she captioned the image. “Thank you ALL for my beautiful birthday wishes. I felt sooooo much love from so many and ALL of it is going to carry me through this wild and beautifully unknown year ahead. I love you!”
Friends and fans raced to Aniston’s comments section to celebrate with her, and to add their voices to the outpouring of love.
“You don’t know me Jen, I’m just a middle-aged mom who still delights in Friends reruns,” wrote one fan, “but I love the way you live your life. You inspire so many, more than you realise! I love this old photo, and you look adorable.”
“You deserve all these people who love you,” agreed another.
Comedian Chelsea Handler gushed, “Happy Birthday, you beautiful tush!!! I’m glad you are surrounded by such love.”
“Such a touching photo,” mused actress Rita Wilson.
And fellow actress Kate Hudson shared her love for her friend with a simple red heart emoji.
It isn’t the first time that Aniston has shared her parents with her supporters. In a 2021 interview with Vogue, she spoke about what her mother had taught her of ageing, and the privilege of being able to do so, saying, “my mother was always so healthy and beautifully fit when I was a kid. I’ve always had that as my foundation.
“It’s just sort of been a theme in my life: to enjoy the age I am and not look at ageing as a negative, but as the privilege that it is. We all age!”
And in 2016, she shared her own take on the matter of beauty and ageing, telling People that beauty is “inner confidence. Peace. Kindness. Honesty. A life well-lived. Taking on challenges and not feeling shame for things that haven't gone the way you felt they should have."
On her 52nd birthday in 2021, she added, “I’m at an age where I’m more interested than ever in my health, and my life is thriving, but according to society, this is where I should be going out to pasture. No, no, no, youth is wasted on the young, I get it. But I want to keep putting information in my head that’s going to inspire me.”
