Kate Middleton gets the jab in most casual royal outfit yet
Kate Middleton has announced her deep praise for the NHS while receiving her first COVID vaccine jab – just nine days after her husband.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, posed for a photo at the Science Museum in London, sporting a simple white T-shirt and light blue jeans.
In an official tweet, the royal said: “Yesterday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum.
“I’m hugely grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the rollout – thank you for everything you are doing.”
The Duchess of Cambridge was given the vital vaccine by NHS staff after the rollout was extended to over 30s this week.
The moment follows just nine days after her husband Prince William, 38, was pictured receiving his jab.
Prince William also got his own COVID vaccine done at the Science Museum, which is close to the couple’s home in Kensington Palace.
William himself was struck down by COVID in April of last year, just days after his father Prince Charles, and the Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The royal “struggled to breathe,” but kept his diagnosis a secret as he did not want to alarm the nation.
Despite his illness, William managed to carry out 14 telephone and video call engagements during April.
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge warned the public about COVID-19 rumours and misinformation vaccinations on social media.
William addressed clinically vulnerable woman who are shielding, by saying: “Catherine and I are not medical experts by any means, but we can wholeheartedly support having vaccinations.
“We’ve spoken to a lot of people about it and the uptake has been amazing so far.
“We’ve got to keep it going so the younger generations also feel that it’s really important for them to have it.”
