Remembering The People's Princess on her 60th birthday

Princess Diana has lived a life many could only dream about.

From redefining what it means to be a royal member, to setting herself apart from The Firm and creating a legendary legacy in her own right – there will never be another Princess Diana.

On July 1, 2021, the “people’s princess” would have turned 60.

It has been nearly two decades since her tragic death near the end of 1997, however the world has not forgotten and still regard her as the legacy that permanently changed the British monarchy for the better.

Whether it was for her endless philanthropy, her iconic fashion, or her bitter battle with Prince Charles, Princess Diana has never failed to capture the attention of people from across the globe.

In honour of the royal gone too soon, a documentary is set to be released on her birthday. It will delve into her life and the indelible mark she made on the world.

Diana at Sixty will feature insights from the late royal’s friends, including Hilary Clinton.

Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, have also honoured Princess Diana by commissioning a statue of the royal in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace on July 1.

William and Harry said last year they hoped the permanent sculpture would help all those who visited Kensington Palace to "reflect on her life and her legacy".

"Our mother touched so many lives," they said.

The Princess of Wales died on 31 August 1997, when Prince William and Prince Harry were just 15 and 12.
