Baby has the best reaction to hearing his mother’s voice for first time
Baby Matthew was born with congenital cytomeglalovirus (CMV), which left him only with hepatitis, an enlarged spleen, cysts and calcification on his brain, but also without the ability to hear. He will most likely require cochlear implants when he is older, but for now, hearing aids are giving him a new lease on life.
In August last year, when Matthew was just four months old, his parents took him to be fitted with his first hearing aid, recording it and sharing the video on YouTube. It was seen around 8,000 times before it was shared to Reddit in February and blew up, racking up more than half a million views.
The look of pure shock and delight on Matthew’s face absolutely made our day, and we think it’ll make yours, too. We can’t imagine how happy his proud parents must be.
