Britney Spears is pregnant!
Pop princess Britney Spears has announced she is expecting her first child with fiancé Sam Asghari.
Britney made the announcement on Instagram in a lengthy caption, as she refers to Sam as her husband and reveals how she found out she is pregnant.
She wrote, "I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ … I thought 'Geez … what happened to my stomach ???' My husband said 'No you're food pregnant silly 🤪 !!!' So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby 👶🏼 …"
"4 days later I got a little more food pregnant 🤰🏼🙈🙈🙈 It's growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it 😬😬😬😬😬😬 …" she continued.
Britney said she would "obviously" be away from the public eye during her pregnancy due to paparazzi trying to get their "money shot of [her]," and referenced experiencing perinatal depression in her previous pregnancies.
Britney shares two children, 16-year-old Sean Preston Federline and 15-year-old Jayden James Federline, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The news of the pregnancy delighted fans around the globe, as the singer was forced to be on birth control during the duration of her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in November 2021.
Sam proposed to Britney in September last year after four years of dating, after the pair met on the set of Britney's music video for the 2016 track Slumber Party.
Spears has been vocal about her love for Asghari, particularly in how he supported her through the end of her strict conservatorship.
The couple reportedly have been excited to start a family for a while now, with a source telling US Weekly last July, "Sam would love to start a family with Britney."
The source continued, "Sam also sees marriage in his and Britney's future when the time is right and they are able to wed without the restraints of her conservatorship."
