Nicole Kidman’s heartbreaking revelation about two oldest children: “They have made choices to be Scientologists”
Nicole Kidman believes that her troubled relationship with her two eldest children is due to Scientology.
The actress claims that Connor, now 24, and his sister Isabella, 26, chose to go down the path of the infamous belief system after she separated from Tom Cruise, who she adopted the two with.
Scientologists must follow a strict set of rules, with one of them being that they are unable to have close relationships with those outside of the faith. According to former members, people who do not follow the religion are referred to as suppressive persons.
Because of this, Kidman was forced to watch her children grow up from afar, even missing out on her daughter’s wedding in 2015 despite being in London on the West End when she was married in the city.
But now the 52-year-old is trying to heal the rift between them, and her daughter seems to want the same thing as she recently named her fashion line after her mother – Bella Kidman Cruise.
The Big Little Lies star adopted Connor and Isabella with Tom when they were married, before calling it quits in 2001.
Speaking to Red magazine in the past, Kidman said: “Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother of a birth mother. What a child needs is love.”
She then said to Who.com.au: “They have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love.”
It is alleged that Kidman’s relationship with her children was so rocky that she was banned from her son Connor’s wedding to fiancée Silvia.
