Queen's strict rule for grandkids revealed
To Prince William and Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II was simply known as their grandmother, and just like any other grandparent her Majesty certainly had her rules.
According to journalist, former UK politician and close friend of the Royal Family, Gyles Brandreth’s new book: Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Queen Elizabeth had her very own mobile phone that the younger royals would help her navigate.
"She had her own mobile phone, and obliging grandchildren ready to show her how it worked. She understood 'texting', though was rather defeated by ‘apps.’”
However, the late Queen’s one super-strict family rule was that neither William, nor Harry, nor any of her other grandchildren – including Peter, Zara, Beatrice, Eugenie, Louise and James were ever allowed to have their mobile phones at the dinner table.
"And she did not allow her grandchildren to bring their 'devices' to the dining table, under any circumstances.”
According to commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti, the Queen’s phone was reportedly so “advanced” in order to be “unhackable”. She only really used it to regularly contact two special people - her daughter Princess Anne and her racing manager John Warren.
Despite her strict rules, the Queen was known for having a very special relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike.
