Touching moment dog refuses to leave unconscious owner who fell from tree
A dog who refused to leave his owner as he lay unconscious on the street has epitomised everything we love about our canine friends.
Jesus Heuche was trimming a tree outside his home in Argentina when he fell six feet and cracked his head on the pavement below.
His beloved dog, Tony, stayed by his side, lovingly nuzzling him, as neighbours called the ambulance and waited for help.
When paramedics arrived, they placed a neck brace on Jesus and tried to carry him to the van. But Tony wouldn’t leave his owner, attempted to climb inside the ambulance.
Although Tony was not allowed in the ambulance, his owner Jesus escaped with a minor injury o his head and was discharged later that day.
“I did not realise it but when I fell I lost consciousness,” Jesus told local radio station Brujula 24.
“When I woke up, I had my son Tony on top of me, growling at the ambulance and Civil Defence people.”
He added: “He goes everywhere with me and lies in my bed until my wife kicks him out.
“One day we saw him on the street and adopted him, gave him love, food and is part of our family. For me he’s like a son.
“Even Tony has a son, Thumb, who is my grandson.”
