Mint julep cocktail
If you’re looking for a summer cocktail with something else, why not try our recipe for a mint julep cocktail. It’s light, refreshing and very delicious.
Serves: Two
Ingredients:
• Tablespoon caster sugar
• 1/2 cup dry ginger ale, chilled
• 16 fresh mint leaves
• 60ml bourbon
• 3 cups crushed ice (see note) mint sprigs and straws, to serve
Method:
1. Place two teaspoons sugar and 1/4 cup dry ginger ale in two highball glasses.
2. Stir to dissolve sugar.
3. Divide mint between glasses.
4. Using a muddler or wooden spoon, press leaves until lightly bruised.
5. Divide bourbon and ice between glasses.
6. Stir to combine, leaving mint at base.
7. Serve with mint sprigs and straws
