Sugar biscuits
If you’re craving something sweet, this simple sugar biscuit recipe is almost too easy to make!
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of softened butter
- ½ cup of Copha vegetable shortening, melted
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups of plain flour
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of bi-carb soda
- Sugar for decorating
Method:
- Preheat oven to 175°C.
- Combine butter, shortening and sugar in a bowl. Mix until fluffy.
- Add vanilla and egg and mix.
- Add flour, baking powder and bi-carb soda and mix thoroughly to form a batter.
- Roll batter into small balls, place on a lined baking sheet, and flatten.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes and top with sugar while still warm.
