The Queen owns her very own McDonald’s
The Queen has an impressive real estate portfolio which includes racecourses, posh hotels and castles.
Now, it has been revealed that the Queen even owns a McDonald’s store.
Although it is not the sort of establishment you would associate with royalty, the Crown Estate owns the land that forms Banbury Gateway Shopping Park, a retail park roughly 130km outside of London.
In this park, there is a shopping centre and the McDonald’s which opened in 2015.
The Independent reported that the fast food store is technically owned by Sovereign in the right of the Crown, and the profit goes to the Treasury.
While it is unlikely that you will see the Queen there, Prince William and Prince Harry have been known to be visitors at the Golden Arches.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed that Princess Diana would often treat her sons to McDonald’s.
“She took them to McDonald’s,” he told OK!
“I remember I said: ‘I can cook burgers,’ but she said: ‘No, the boys want a Happy Meal and the free toy!’”
