DIY glitter shoes
This weekend, you can achieve a look that’s popping up on the runways and the streets by creating your own pair of glitter shoes. Make them with your granddaughter for a look all her friends will love.
You will need:
- A pair of shoes (plain white canvas ideal but will work for most clean surfaces)
- Fine glitter
- Decoupage
How to:
1. Cover your workspace with paper to save excess glitter. Stuff shoes with newspaper and duct-tape over non-canvas, rubber areas where you will not be applying glitter, for easier clean up.
2. Apply decoupage to a small section of your shoe.
3. Sprinkle glitter directly over wet area.
4. Repeat until all areas of the shoe are covered, reusing the fallen glitter as you go.
5. Let shoe dry completely.
6. Apply a second coat of decoupage and glitter.
7. Let dry.
8. Seal with a final coat of decoupage. Let dry overnight. Remove tape and wear!
