Simon Baker splits with wife of 29 years
Australian actor Simon Baker and his wife Rebecca Rigg have separated after almost 30 years of marriage.
The pair quietly split in April 2020 but confirmed the news on Friday.
“We remain close friends and our three children will always be the most important focus of our lives,” the pair said in a statement.
The two were married for 29 years and share three children - Stella, 27, Claude, 22 and Harry, 19.
Baker opened up about his marriage in the past when asked why he and Rigg didn't celebrate wedding anniversaries.
“We’ve never really been big on it. Anniversaries, they’re an odd thing, aren’t they?” Baker told People in 2018.
“I think we put too much pressure on it. It’s not like that with us.
“We’re a team. Most of the time, 99 per cent of the time, we’re really great friends. So I don’t need to mark it with great things.”
Baker and Rigg met in the 1990s and both appeared in the Australian drama E-Street.
