Retirement Life

Readers response: What are you starting to like more as you get older?

As we age, we start to have a whole new appreciation for things we previously overlooked in our younger years.

We asked our reader what of life's simple pleasures they are starting to enjoy more as they get older, and the response was overwhelming. Here's what you said.

Wendy Turner - The beauty and companionship of dogs, the wildness of a garden, the treasured times between physical pain, and the love of family and treasured friends.

SE Rosenberg - Being on my own away from people but hanging out with my cats.

Lynette Miller - Taking time to enjoy sunrise and sunsets, smelling the roses and just little things that sometimes pass you by because you're too busy to enjoy them.

Antoinette Devlin - Peace and quiet.

Robert Edward Fleming - Not having to work for the man anymore.

Janine Sarai George - Putting my feet up, a good book and my wildlife.

Maureen Brown Montgomery - Finally starting not to mind living a solo life and enjoying my own company without drama.

Liz Lewis - Not having to set the alarm but being able to wake up naturally and usually not having to be anywhere in a hurry.

Roselyn Reincastle - Appreciating life more now that I have had the experience.

Frances Bradshaw - Peace and hearing the birds sing.

Margie Buckingham - Serenity, that my opinions matter, travelling, spare time & being a grandparent.

Rob Anderson - Time with the grandchildren, and reflection.

Wendy Hope - Travel and wonder at the diversity of people.

Maya Richardson - Staying as far away from people as possible.

Christine Tully - Not having to commit to anything if I don’t want to.

Margaret Inglis - Doing what I want to do, although my 4 legged mate still wants to get me out of the house each morning.
