Fascinating video shows how giant cruise ships are constructed
Cruising is one of the most luxurious ways to travel and anyone who’ve ever been lucky enough to go on a cruise ship would agree that these ships are incredible pieces of machinery. But what goes into making one of these ocean vessels?
Quite a bit of work, as it turns out.
In the video above, filmed over the course of five years by time-lapse specialists MKtimelapse, we see the construction of the AIDAprima, a giant cruise liner with a gross tonnage of 124,500t, 1,643 staterooms and a capacity of 3,300 passengers.
The footage is simply incredible. You really get a sense of the size and scale of the project, and how much coordination goes into to making these ships.
What did you think of the video? Do you have a cruise lined up for your future, and if so where are you planning to go?
