Emirates to ditch 1st class to break world record

When Emirates unveiled their Airbus A380 over the weekend, something was missing – first class.

Emirates new Airbus A380 boasts a record-breaking 615 passenger seats, after eliminating bulky first class seats to cater for increased economy and business class sections.

The Airbus A380 is already the biggest commercial airliner in the world, with most configurations accommodating roughly 520 passengers. Before Emirates debuted its new plane, the record belonged to Air France, which had A380s accommodating 538 passenger seats.

The Airbus A380 features an innovative double-decker design that allows for passengers to board and alight through both the upper and lower entrance ways.

There might be a bit of a line for the bathroom in Emirates’ new plane, with just two bathrooms added to make a total of 17. Is that going to be enough for 100 extra people?
