Most sustainable travel destinations
If you’re wanting to be more environmentally friendly while travelling, there are some must visit destinations to add to your travel bucket list.
To help you find the greenest countries to make you feel good about your next holiday, a new study by AKRA has listed more than 50 cities to create a ranking of the world's top sustainable destinations in 2024.
Each city was judged based on three main criteria: the percentage of green spaces, bike friendliness, and tram network coverage.
Additional criteria such as the country's Sustainability Score, Percentage of Renewable Energy Use, Electric Vehicle Usage, and CO2 Emissions per Capita, was also taken into account.
While the list was largely dominated by European destinations, one Australian country also cracked the top ten list.
