10 best National Geographic’s travel photos of the year

National Geographic has developed a reputation for showcasing some of the best of the best in terms of travel photography over the years.

Understandably, the travel photo of the year competition is always a hotly contested one.

Nat Geo has released 10 of the best entries from this year’s competition to date, and if they’re anything to go by 2016 is going to be a stellar year.

The eye-catching images include a shot of New York City as it was enveloped by Winter Storm Jonas, a captivating shot of a winding road in Morocco overlooking a gorge and a spectacular close up shot of a particularly cranky-looking polar bear.
