You can now do a tour of Prince Charles’ private garden

Are you dying to peak over the fence of Prince Charles’ beloved private garden? Well, it turns out, you don’t need a plane ticket to London to do so.

Thanks to technology, you can take a virtual tour of Highgrove House – the home of the Prince of Wales and Duchess Camilla.

Google Arts and Culture have teamed up with the 70-year-old in honour of National Gardening Week to give fans an inside look into the property Charles has called home since 1980.

The property holds a historical significance and was built between 1796 and 1798. The garden is nothing short of extravagant, as each area is different from the next.

Some are perfectly manicured, while others are completely wild. Each garden also comes complete with its own name – Cottage Garden, the Sundial Garden, the Lily Pool Garden, a Wildflower Meadow and so many more.

Sitting down with the BBC in 2018 for the show Gardener’s World, Charles revealed the deep affection he holds for his beautiful garden. He also believes that his passion stemmed from watching his grandmother garden.

“I remember being absolutely riveted as a child and wandering about the little paths and things and looking at all the plants,” said Charles.

“It was a wonderful woodland garden with masses of azaleas and rhododendrons.

“The smell and everything had a profound effect on me, I think.”

The virtual tour included images and videos, as well as 360-degree images. Perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the experience.
