You won’t believe how Uluru looks from space
Uluru is arguably Australia’s most famous landmark, but if you think about it we only ever really look at the Red Centre’s mammoth monolith from the one perspective.
But what if we had a bird’s eye view?
Well, thanks to Thomas Pesquet, a French astronaut on the International Space Station, we now know what it looks like (albeit for a bird flying extremely high).
Pesquet posted the view of Uluru from above on his Facebook page earlier this year, telling his followers it was an image that he’s wanted to capture for a long time.
“This is a sacred site, and a striking landscape,” he said, “Not easy to spot from the International Space Station, but as the sun went down, we got lucky!”
Not easy indeed! It’s an incredible photo but we’re sure, as you would agree, Uluru looks good from nearly every angle. If you’ve got a great snap of Uluru please share it in the comments section below. We’d love to see it.
