Eerie reason hotel has removed ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs
Guests at four major Walt Disney World hotels no longer have the option to place ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs on their doors, according to the New York Post.
The four hotels are located on the Monorail line that connects to the theme park, including Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower.
The company hinted that it is considering removing the signs from its other hotels in the future.
The signs will be replaced with ‘Room Occupied’ signs instead. The move appears to be in response to tightened security following the October shooting in Las Vegas, where lone gunman Stephen Paddock shot and killed 59 people, injuring more than 500.
Paddock stored firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition in his 32nd floor hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Staff at the hotel had not entered his room in the hours prior to the shooting, due to the placement of a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door.
Several other major hotels in Las Vegas have revised their policies regarding the signage in response to the shooting.
Do you agree that this is a positive safety move for the hotels in the wake of the mass shooting? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
