Woman, 30, dies of COVID-19 on airport runway

A woman only in her 30s has passed away from COVID-19 after she boarded a flight from Arizona to Texas and soon found she was having difficulty breathing while the aircraft was on the tarmac waiting to depart.

The unidentified woman from Garland, US, found it hard to breathe while on the tarmac awaiting takeoff on July 25.

Officials have since announced she died of coronavirus, news station WFAA reported.

The woman died on the runway despite being administered oxygen.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said on Sunday that local officials were previously notified about her death, but only learned that she died from the virus a few days ago.

“We don’t know a whole lot,” Jenkins.

“We may not know if she was aware she was sick.”

Jenkins noted that the woman contracted the virus while in Arizona.

They say her case was a “reminder that there is no age restriction in COVID.”

The woman is likely to have passed on the virus to fellow passengers.
