Jam tarts

An old favourite, cheap to make and such a pretty little treat. This is a great recipe to make with the grandkids.

Ingredients:

For the sweet pastry

  • 250g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 250g icing sugar
  • 125g unsalted butter, softened
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 orange or lemon
  • Splash of milk            

For the fillings

  • 30 heaped teaspoons of your favourite jams, curds or marmalades
