<p>Prince William has made a surprise appearance on Robert Irwin's Instagram as the pair team up for an important award ceremony in South Africa. </p> <p>The Prince of Wales and the wildlife warrior posted a video from Cape Town as they take part in the annual Earthshot Prize Awards: an initiative founded by William, of which Irwin is an ambassador.</p> <p>“G’day, it’s Robert here, with, of course, Prince William,” Irwin began the video. “Lovely to see you. I think it’s going to have to be the cheetah.”</p> <p>“Cheetahs, OK. Very cool. Escape to the Country host dies aged 50

<p>British TV presenter Jonnie Irwin has passed away aged 50 following a battle with terminal cancer. </p> <p>Irwin was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020, when the disease spread from his lungs to his brain. </p> <p>He was initially given just six months to live, but managed to defy the odds and made his illness public after two years of keeping it a secret. </p> <p>The TV presenter rose to fame in the UK for his roles on shows including <em>A Place in the Sun </em>and <em>Escape to the Country</em>. </p> <p>A statement was shared to Instagram on Friday announcing his death, where he was described as "a truly remarkable soul." </p> <p>"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Jonnie’s passing," the statement began. </p> <p>"A truly remarkable soul, he fought bravely against cancer with unwavering strength and courage. Jonnie touched the lives of so many with his kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit."</p> <p>“At this time, we kindly ask for the privacy of Jonnie’s family as they navigate through this profound loss," the statement continued. </p> <p>“Their grief is immeasurable, and your thoughts, prayers, and support are deeply appreciated. As we remember the beautiful moments shared with Jonnie, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts.”</p> <p>“Jonnie may be gone from our sight, but his love, laughter, and memories will live on. <p>Bindi and Robert Irwin have paid tribute to their late father Steve on Father's Day, just 24 hours before the 17th anniversary of his death. </p> <p>Robert began the emotional homage on Sunday as many celebrated Father's Day in Australia, sharing a series of throwback clips from his childhood with Bindi. </p> <p>Accompanying the video, the 19-year-old wildlife warrior wrote, "Today is Father’s Day here in Australia. Days like this are filled with so many different emotions, but above all, I choose to make it a happy day to remember the best moments with the best Dad ❤️".</p> <p>The post quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and comments, with his sister Bindi writing on the post, "Dad is SO. PROUD. OF. YOU. He’s always with us. Bindi Irwin shares candid health update

<p>Bindi Irwin has shared a candid health update, while sharing details of her gruelling road to receiving a diagnosis for endometriosis. </p> <p>The wildlife warrior first shared that she was suffering with the condition, which effects one in nine women, in March 2023, as she revealed she was living in constant pain. </p> <p>Now, the 25-year-old told <a href="https://people.com/bindi-irwin-doctors-dismissed-pain-before-endometriosis-diagnosis-exclusive-7749973" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a> magazine that it took 10 years to be diagnosed, after being “tested for everything” after experiencing extreme fatigue, pain and nausea over the span of a decade.</p> <p>“It’s so hard because you feel like it’s inescapable,” she told the publication.</p> <p>“You don’t know what’s wrong with you, and then when people tell you ‘It’s all in your head’ or ‘you’re hormonal’ or ‘just have a cup of tea, lay down,’ you end up feeling so desperately alone because there’s no answers.”</p> <p>In August 2022, Bindi pushed to undergo an explorative laparoscopy to explore her organs in the abdomen and pelvis. </p> <p>“I was so scared that they wouldn’t find anything because we had run out of everything else to test for,” Irwin said.</p> <p>The surgery revealed she had 37 lesions and cysts on her ovaries, and was formally diagnosed with endometriosis. </p> <p>Following specialised treatment and surgery, the conservationist said she feels “like I have a second chance at life ... I feel brand new”.</p> <p>“It’s not like a light switch, but every week I feel like I’m able to do a little bit more,” she said.</p> <p>“Now I wake up in the morning, and I don’t have to take anti-nausea medicine or have my heat pack."</p> <p>“Being able to go for a walk with my daughter and not feeling like I have to throw up in the bushes is just wild to me.”</p> <p><em>Image credits: Instagram</em></p>

<p>Bindi Irwin has shared a sweet tribute to her husband Chandler Powell as the couple celebrate an important anniversary. </p> <p>The wildlife warrior couple posted a heartfelt snap to Instagram, celebrating that it had been four years since they got engaged. </p> <p>Bindi said yes when Chandler popped the question in 2019, after the pair met in late 2013 when they were teenagers.</p> <p>Irwin posted a photo to Instagram, showing the couple embracing in front of sunlit bushland.</p> <p>“Exactly four years ago, I said ‘yes’. “Our Disney princess”: Grace Irwin’s magical milestone

<p dir="ltr">Bindi Irwin and her family were all smiles on a recent trip to “the most magical place on Earth”, with some of their favourite highlights documented on social media for their fans to enjoy the occasion right along with them.</p> <p dir="ltr">The day was something of a milestone for two-year-old Grace, who was making her first trip to Disneyland alongside Bindi and Chandler. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Our Disney princess visited the most magical place on Earth for the very first time,” Bindi wrote. “My. Bindi Irwin breaks down on camera about health condition

<p>Bindi Irwin has shown her vulnerable side in an emotional new video shared with fans about a personal ordeal.</p> <p>The 24-year-old spoke candidly to the camera for 15 minutes with guest appearances from husband Chandler Powell and their daughter Grace Warrior.</p> <p>In the video, Irwin recalled the “insurmountable” pain she experienced due to endometriosis before finally <a href="https://www.oversixty.co.nz/health/caring/how-did-you-live-with-this-much-pain-bindi-irwin-hospitalised" target="_blank" rel="noopener">undergoing surgery</a>.</p> <p>The wildlife warrior announced her diagnosis in March 2023, but the new video explains her symptoms - which started when she was just 14 - that left her with “extreme fatigue, nausea and pain”.</p> <p>“I had pain every single day of my life. No matter where we went, where we were going, I would be falling asleep. I felt like I constantly had the flu,” she said.</p> <p>The conservationist confessed she tried everything to solve the issue, undergoing CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds.</p> <p>“I was always in pain. We tried for a year, and finally a doctor told me it was just part of being a woman.”</p> <p>Irwin said it was that comment from a doctor that led her to suffer in silence.</p> <p>However, after giving birth to her daughter in 2021, the pain “magnified” to a point where it was “out of this world”.</p> <p>“I remember countless times of Grace needing me, and me crawling to her cot at night,” she revealed, becoming emotional.</p> <p>“I can remember being with Grace and lying on the floor in agony. I had to recover for quite a while, and mama feels so much better, and she can run around with you!”</p> <p>Irwin went on to share what she has learned being a part of the endometriosis community.</p> <p>She revealed that excision surgery is considered the “gold standard” for the disease, where lesions and cysts are removed.</p> <p>“Everyone says we need to educate the public, but there also needs to be a shift in health care. Doctors need more information because endometriosis has myriad symptoms. Doctors need the right tools to diagnose.”</p> <p>She explained that her own endometriosis has been classified as severe, which means she may have to undergo more surgeries in the future to keep symptoms at bay.</p> <p>“I feel like. I got a second chance at life... And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…", he wrote.</p> <p>In February 2023 Bindi, 24, took to Instagram to share a tribute for Steve on what would have been his 61st birthday.</p> <p>"Happy Birthday, Dad," Bindi wrote alongside a sweet photo of her and Steve.</p> <p>"Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places. Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation. Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much.”</p> <p>Robert also shared a sweet message to honour their father, "Happy birthday, Dad ❤️," Robert wrote, alongside a photo of Steve cradling him with little Bindi watching on.</p> <p>Australia Zoo posted a happy image of Steve on a boat, paired with the caption, "Happy birthday to the original Wildlife Warrior 🐊,"</p> <p>"Countless wildlife, wild places, and people thank you for your message of love🤎.”</p> <p>Steve Irwin has had a passion for wildlife ever since he was a child. His parents opened a small zoo called the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, which later turned into the famed Australia Zoo.</p> <p>Steve was very involved in the zoo, he helped with the animals’ daily feeding and care routines. For his sixth birthday, he was gifted a four-metre scrub python. By the age of nine, his father Bob had taught him proper reptile handling techniques, and the wildlife warrior wrested his first crocodile.</p> <p>Although Steve cherished all animals, it was clear he had a soft spot for crocodiles. Throughout his adolescence and young adult years he volunteered for Queensland's East Coast Crocodile Management program. During that time he caught over 100 crocs, who were then relocated or housed at his family’s park.</p> <p>In 1991 he took over management of the park, giving it the name Australia Zoo in 1998.</p> <p>That same year Steve met his wife, Terri, an American naturalist visiting zoos in Australia.</p> <p>Terri says it was love at first sight, "I thought there was no one like this anywhere in the world. He sounded like an environmental Tarzan, a larger-than-life superhero guy.”</p> <p>The couple were engaged within four months of dating and got married in 1992 in the US.</p> <p>For their honeymoon, they went on a trip trapping crocodiles together. A friend of Steve, John Stainton took footage of them working, which later became the first episode of <em>The Crocodile Hunter</em>.</p> <p><em>The Crocodile Hunter</em> premiered in 1996 and aired for five seasons. By 1999 it premiered in the US and became a worldwide success.</p> <p>The show aired in 130 countries to over 500 million people. Even the legendary Sir David Attenborough praised Steve for his work in getting people interested in nature, ”He taught them how wonderful and exciting it was. He was a born communicator," he said.</p> <p>Steve was incredibly committed to the conservation of the environment, "I consider myself a wildlife warrior. My mission is to save the world's endangered species," he said.</p> <p>In 1998 Steve and Terri gave birth to their first child, a baby girl called Bindi.</p> <p>Steve once said his daughter Bindi was "the reason [he] was put on the Earth”.</p> <p>In 1999 Steve appeared multiple times on <em>The Tonight Show With Jay Leno </em>to promote several of his TV shows over the years.</p> <p>Steve was often in the US to promote his work and conservation, expressing interest in opening an Australia Zoo outpost in Los Vegas.</p> <p>After the massive success of the documentary series, the Irwins went on to star in a feature film, The<em> Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course</em>. It co-starred Magda Szubanski and David Wenham.</p> <p>As Steve was promoting the tour for the <em>Crocodile Hunter</em> film in 2002, Terri and Bindi joined him at the premieres in both the US and Australia.</p> <p>In 2003, Steve and Terri gave birth to their second child, a son named Robert.</p> <p>Steve noticeably passed down his love for animals and the environment to his children, with them both involved at Australia Zoo and beyond.</p> <p>Bindi appeared in several episodes of her father’s shows, including <em>The Crocodile Hunter Diaries</em> which focused on the family and everyday life at Australia Zoo.</p> <p>Shortly before his death, Steve had planned for his daughter to have her own show called <em>Bindi The Jungle Girl.</em></p> <p>It ended up airing a year after his death.</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty/Instagram/Twitter</em></p>

Bindi Irwin’s unexpected wedding news

<p>Bindi Irwin has opened up about the future of her relationship with husband Chandler Powell, sharing that the two have every intention of renewing their vows. </p> <p>The beloved Australian conservationist wed Chandler in March 2020, just before Australia’s COVID-19 restrictions saw weddings restricted to include no more than five people. This meant, of course, that the happy couple could not have some of their nearest and dearest share in their happy day. </p> <p>“Personally, I'd love to renew our vows one day when Grace is older,” Bindi explained in a candid interview with <em>Hello! Magazine</em>. “It would be lovely to have our closest friends and family with us to celebrate.”</p> <p>And while there may have been no small number of absences at the ceremony, Bindi and Chandler were far from alone, with Bindi adding that “our animals are part of our family. Even though we couldn't have all the human guests we wanted at our wedding, we were grateful to spend the day with the wildlife we love so dearly. </p> <p>“Getting married during the pandemic was certainly a strange experience, but an important reminder that love always wins.”</p> <p>In 2020, Bindi had shared a post to social media about the “very difficult decision” to go ahead with their wedding with the reduced guest list, and wrote of how they were “encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward.” </p> <p>Now, it seems, the wildlife warrior is ready to take that hope and to move forward, especially as “we have our gorgeous daughter which makes persevering with our wedding even sweeter.” </p> <p>She didn’t have any specifics to share about the next ceremony, but Bindi did spend some time in her interview reflecting on the 2020 event, sharing everything from the story of her dress to the emotion of her brother walking her down the aisle. </p> <p>“Ever since I was a little girl I've known that I wanted a wedding dress similar to my mum's gorgeous gown,” Bindi confessed, going on to note that the gown in question had been in the family for almost 60 years. She went on to reveal that her dress, one created by an Australian boutique, was “even more perfect than I had imagined.”</p> <p>The family’s day wasn’t only a tribute to Bindi and Chandler’s love, with the Irwins making sure to include the late Steve in their celebration - as well as the family’s furry friend.</p> <p>“On the day we had a candle-lighting ceremony in honour of Dad,” Bindi said, “alongside my favourite photo of him and our family dog, Sui.”</p> <p>She noted that it had “meant the world” to be able to pay tribute to her dad on a day that meant so much to her, and for her brother to have accepted the momentous honour of escorting her down the aisle to her future husband. </p> <p>“I’m forever thankful,” she shared, “for his friendship and support.” </p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

Escape to the Country star’s heartbreaking cancer update

<p>Jonnie Irwin, star of Escape to the Country, has shared a heartbreaking update on his battle with terminal cancer. </p> <p>The TV star - who was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer and given only six months to live in 2020 - sat down for an interview with <em>The Sun </em>after early 50th birthday celebrations, where he opened up about his diagnosis, and the impact it has had on himself and his young family.</p> <p>Jonnie is the father of three young boys with his devoted wife, Jess. Rex - the couple’s eldest - is four, while their twins Rafa and Cormac are only two. And he was recounting a football game with his eldest son, Rex, when he revealed that he’s feeling the physical weight of his ongoing fight, explaining that he “tried to play football with Rex the other day and was in goal and I couldn’t get near the ball. It was so frustrating.</p> <p>“I’m very sporty and suddenly it’s just like … it was as if it was the first time I’d attempted football. I felt like a granddad. And that broke me a bit.</p> <p>“I always thought, ‘I’m an older dad but I’ll be leading from the front’.</p> <p>“But I’m now at the back.”</p> <p>“I’m weak now, fragile, and my memory is terrible,” he later added, “but I’m still here.”</p> <p>Jonnie only announced his diagnosis in 2020, when his appearance change had become noticeable. </p> <p>“People didn’t know for such a long time, which helped with not having the conversation for some time,” Jess explained. </p> <p>“Our friends knew, but not the severity of it, and Jonnie looked well so it was never really a topic we discussed. The physical side of it came more recently. Now it’s all we talk about at home.”</p> <p>Jess went on to explain that while she knows Jonnie is trying to “cross every T and dot all the I’s” for their family, she’s been trying to stress to him that he should “do what makes you happy. If you want to do something, just do it.”</p> <p>“I just want to be able to bring any bit of fun and enjoyment back into his life,” she added, “which is really hard to do, especially with the reality of how much he’s struggling on a day-to-day basis.”</p> <p>Their children have served as something of a distraction for them, although Jess admits they haven’t quite been able to wrap their heads around the enormity of the truth. </p> <p>“I don’t have time to think to be honest,” Jess said, “and I know that Jonnie is doing all that he can with the diet, the resting, the supplement, research, [and] looking into treatment. Jonnie is partly still here because of sheer willpower. </p> <p>“He’s stubborn and determined and he’s a scrapper. </p> <p>“I think I’m still in denial about a lot of it if I’m honest.”</p> <p>Despite the weight of their situation, Jonnie, Jess, and their loved ones recently came together to celebrate - although he won’t be turning 50 until November, the couple decided to celebrate his birthday early with over 150 of their nearest and dearest friends and family. </p> <p>“It was a great night,” Jonnie recalled. “I chose a playlist with some great tunes from the 90s and 2000s and people came from all over the country and abroad.</p> <p>“I didn’t know the extent of the loyalty and generosity that my friends would exhibit.</p> <p>“I’ve been dumbfounded and spellbound by their support, as well as that of our families, who have been amazing. “I can finally see a new me”: Bindi Irwin shares update on difficult diagnosis

<p dir="ltr">Bindi Irwin has taken to social media to assure her supporters that she is on a journey to “better health” one week after revealing her endometriosis diagnosis. </p> <p dir="ltr">The Australian sweetheart shared a picture of herself sitting up in bed, smiling, with a beautiful bouquet of red roses in her arms. "How did you live with this much pain?": Bindi Irwin hospitalised

<p dir="ltr"> Bindi Irwin has issued an emotional statement on social media after undergoing surgery for endometriosis.</p> <p dir="ltr">The beloved Australian conservationist has been battling with the condition for 10 years, and detailed in her post what it had been like to struggle with “insurmountable fatigue, pain & nausea.”</p> <p dir="ltr">She confessed that she had spent a long time wondering whether or not she should share her story, but ultimately believed it to be her “responsibility” to share her story for others like her who haven’t been able to get the help they desperately need for their condition. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I’m aware of millions of women struggling with a similar story,” Bindi wrote, “there’s stigma around this awful disease. I’m sharing my story for anyone who reads this & is quietly dealing with pain & no answers. Let this be your validation that your pain is real & you deserve help. Keep searching for answers.”</p> <p dir="ltr">According to the World Health Organisation, endometriosis - a chronic disease for which there is no known cure - affects approximately 10% of the world’s population of women, girls, and gender diverse individuals of a reproductive age (that’s roughly 190 million people). It is associated with severe pain during periods, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and even infertility. </p> <p dir="ltr">However, the symptoms can be so varied that healthcare professionals often struggle to diagnose the condition, and that many sufferers don’t know enough to put a name to it. Due to this, there are often large spans of time between first noticing symptoms, getting a formal diagnosis, and getting help. </p> <p dir="ltr">“These last 10yrs have included many tests, doctors visits, scans, etc.,” Bindi explained in her caption. “A doctor told me it was simply something you deal with as a woman & I gave up entirely, trying to function through the pain.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“I decided to undergo surgery for endometriosis,” she continued, after noting that a friend had helped steer in the right direction. “Going in for surgery was scary but I knew I couldn’t live like I was. "Your legacy lives on”: Outpouring of love from Bindi Irwin

<p>Bindi Irwin has shared an emotional tribute to her late father, Aussie icon Steve Irwin, celebrating what would have been his 61st birthday.</p> <p>Bindi expressed her gratitude to her dad for sharing his love of animals with her and younger brother Robert.</p> <p>“Happy Birthday, Dad,” she captioned an image on instagram, posting a photo of herself as a little girl with Steve, who is holding a small reptile.</p> <p>“Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places.</p> <p>“Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation.</p> <p>“Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much.”</p> <p>People flooded the comments with kind words and appreciation for the Crocodile Hunter.</p> <p>Actress Emma Perry commented, “What a blessing he gave to this world and what an honour to continue that legacy, happy birthday to your amazing Dad!</p> <p>“Happy birthday to your daddy. Robert Irwin launches modelling career

<p>Robert Irwin has sent the internet into a frenzy after appearing in a new modelling campaign. </p> <p>The wildlife warrior features in a new advertisement for Aussie clothing brand Hard Yakka, which he shared to his Instagram page on Sunday and has racked up over 200,000 likes. </p> <p>A brooding Irwin is featured taking part in a series of activities including surfing and biking, while discussing how his family helped him develop his relationship with the great outdoors. </p> <p>“I’ve always been about the ocean from a really, really young age,” Irwin said in the video.</p> <p>“It has always been my dad who had that strong connection to the sea. So, it becomes all about giving everything 100 per cent. Having that passion and enthusiasm for what you do is so important,” he said.</p> <p>The video was shot as part of a Hard Yakka series called Meet the Legends and Irwin had fans swooning as he modelled the brand’s clothing range.</p> <p>“Worlds most eligible Bachelor. Robert Irwin left in tears after birthday video from his dad appears

<p dir="ltr">Robert Irwin has been left in tears after he received a birthday video message from his late father, Steve Irwin.</p> <p dir="ltr">He was just two years old when his father passed away after he was stung by a stingray in 2006 at the age of just 44.</p> <p dir="ltr">Robert recently celebrated his 19th birthday but now a video has resurfaced of the Crocodile Hunter discussing Robert's birth and his hopes that Robert would follow in his footsteps.</p> <p dir="ltr">The birthday boy was surprised with the video in which it showed footage of his birth in 2003.</p> <p dir="ltr">“At that very moment I saw the light,” Steve said, in a voiceover about Robert’s birth.</p> <p dir="ltr">“This is why I was put here,” he said of his children.</p> <p dir="ltr"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nYGMAY9eRHo?start=287" width="560" height="314" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p dir="ltr">“Because I could be dead tomorrow.</p> <p dir="ltr">“So I need these blokes to come up as quick as they can, so this little bloke’s (Robert) going to have to catch the crocs with Bindi.</p> <p dir="ltr">“When they’re ready to run up our mission, I will gladly step aside.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Steve then says that it would be the “proudest moment of my life” if his children were to continue his legacy.</p> <p dir="ltr">The video then cuts to show Robert fulfilling his father's dream as he performed shows in the Crocoseum and saving crocodiles in the wild.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Then and only then will I know that I have achieved my ultimate goal and my job will be done. And I guarantee you it will be the proudest moment of my life,” a voiceover of Steve plays at the same time.</p> <p dir="ltr">When the clip ended, Robert shed a few tears and said it was a “privilege” to continue his dad’s legacy in making the world a better place.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It means the absolute world... <p dir="ltr">Robert Irwin has opened up about how dementia has affected his family.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 19-year-old appeared on <em>The Project</em> as a co-host when they began discussing dementia - a disorder that can affect thinking, memory and behaviour.</p> <p dir="ltr">The son of the late Steve Irwin said that he doesn’t think there’s anyone living who hasn’t encountered a person with dementia.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I think there’s no-one living who hasn’t encountered someone or has a loved one who has experienced this,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I know my grandfather on my mum’s side had a form of dementia and a lot of family friends have had that as well and it’s just, it’s devastating.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Someone you love, someone you’re close to you see going through that and just not being able to relive and enjoy the moments they had it’s heartbreaking.</p> <p dir="ltr">“But I guess it just reminds you you’ve got to spend every second with the people you love and really surround yourself with love and light and hopefully this is light at the end of the tunnel for a safe way for people to stop this.”</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> <p dir="ltr" lang="en">Alzheimer’s is the merciless brain condition that slowly erodes the cognitive function and precious memories of thousands of Australians.
