Flight cancelled after passenger's sickening act

A flight has been cancelled at the last minute after a passenger allegedly defecated on the floor of the airplane bathroom.
The EasyJet flight was due to depart from the Spanish island of Tenerife to London’s Gatwick airport, which had already been delayed by several hours when the incident took place.

A passenger on board by the name of Aaran Gedhu told CNN that the problems began when the scheduled plane was switched out for a smaller aircraft.

Passengers were turned away from boarding the plane while the switch took place, which stirred up a frustrated atmosphere amongst passengers.

After travellers eventually made it onto the plane two hours after their scheduled departure, they had to wait for their luggage to be transferred to the new plane, which again took several hours.

As the delay extended, the atmosphere on the packed flight was characterised by "suspense and anger," Gedhu said.

"EasyJet planes, as they are, just aren't very comfortable – it's just a basic seat with okayish legroom room. So everyone was just a bit tense," he said.

"Then, the pilot finally gave the all clear, and then he said that it will be about 20 minutes until departure," recalled Gedhu.

"And that's when the incident happened with the defecation."

Gedhu, who was seated in the middle of the aircraft, saw "two passengers" visit the front airplane bathroom with word quickly spreading that someone had defecated on the bathroom floor.

As an unpleasant smell followed, passengers grew more irritated, but Gedhu says most people onboard believed the incident was an "accident".

"Everyone was being polite to each other. There was no fighting amongst the passengers," he said.

"It was just a very uncomfortable experience. Obviously, the plane was in an unsanitary state. So they had to get external cleaners out from the airport to clean it. So that's when the stairs reconnected, and the cleaners came on to deep clean the flooring."

According to Gedhu, passengers remained in their seats during the cleaning process, and after the situation had been resolved, the captain of the aircraft told the plane's occupants they would have to disembark.

"It was very frustrating," another passenger, Kitty Streek, told CNN Travel.

"We obviously can't prove whether the person simply had an accident or if they had done this out of anger for the delayed flight but it was hard not to be angry either way as nobody wants to be stranded in another country."

Heavily pregnant mum and disabled child kicked off plane

Siobhan Foster, her husband, and their disabled child were kicked off their flight after she was accused of being "aggressive" by a flight attendant.

Foster, who is seven months pregnant, was onboard an easyJet flight to Ibiza to celebrate her brother's wedding.

She struggled to find room for her carry-on in the overhead baggage compartment, so she asked a flight attendant to help her find space, but the response was reportedly "a sharp ‘Clearly Not’", which eventually led to a dispute.

When things escalated, all 180 passengers were eventually told to disembark.

One of Foster's outraged friends posted the video on social media, and the Newtonabbey mum was seen collecting hand luggage while struggling to carry her toddler.

“We’re being thrown off the plane today because of somebody thinking they’re better than everyone else,” the friend said.

The easyJet stewardess responded: “Bye, bye bye," as the upset family walked down the stairs.

Foster took to Facebook to complain about her experience with "sleezy jet".

“So, I asked could you help me find somewhere, her reply was ‘You’ll need to find somewhere yourself’ even though there literally was nowhere," she wrote.

She then claimed that she asked for help again, because she was heavily pregnant, to which the flight attendant allegedly said: "You’re being abusive and it’s not my job to help you.”

Another flight attendant reportedly backed up her co-worker, but Foster argued that other airlines have been more helpful as she is pregnant.

“Writing this, I understand it would make you think was I being abusive, but I honestly wasn’t and the whole plane can vouch for me,” Foster wrote. “People were actually putting this on [Facebook] about how bad I was treated.”

After eventually finding a place for her bag, the pregnant mum was allegedly confronted by two other crew members who also accused her of being “aggressive.”

Foster decided to ignore them because she was "crying" and "so upset," but the flight attendant reportedly started raising her voice.

They were then kicked off, and were told it was because of Foster's aggression, but when Foster’s mum and brother asked for an exact reason, the crew members allegedly couldn't give them a direct response.

After an hour, everyone had to disembark and the family were met by eight police officers and two Swissport employees and were told they would not be allowed back on the flight, despite other passengers being allowed back in.

“So, that whole day we were in Belfast airport from one lunchtime to nine that night with our child, my legs were so swollen and sore with being on them all this time I was crying uncontrollably that this was happening to us for no reason whatsoever.

“I’m so traumatized to the point I don’t know how I’ll ever fly again,” she wrote on Facebook.

EasyJet has denied any wrongdoing and a spokesperson told the Daily Mail that "a group of passengers were "behaving disruptively."

“EasyJet’s cabin crew and ground agents are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

“The Captain took the decision to ask all passengers on the flight to return to the terminal so the situation could be resolved and as soon as it was they re-boarded and the aircraft continued to Ibiza.”

Despite the incident, the Foster family eventually made it to Ibiza the next day, just in time for the wedding, after catching a RyanAir flight out of Dublin.

“Thankfully we got to Ibiza and made my brother’s wedding to say how stressed, upset, and overwhelmed I’ve been I honestly think I’ve no words,” she wrote.

“EasyJet should be ashamed of themselves and I most definitely am taking this further, I’m still in shock of how we were treated especially being seven months pregnant and having a disabled child with us.”

Images: Facebook

Man’s desperate attempt to avoid baggage fees goes viral

One man’s plight to avoid excess baggage fees has been caught on camera and gone viral.

In the video, the male passenger can be seen kicking and shoving his bag into the luggage size checker as an airline staffer looked on.

The man’s desperate efforts amused those around him, with giggling being heard in the background from fellow travellers, including the person filming.

The video, which has now been viewed over 26 million times, was captioned, “Don’t die for EasyJet.”

Eventually, the man was able to convince the staff member that his bag was the right size to count as carry-on luggage, only for it to then be stuck inside the metal frame.

"He's going to miss his flight trying to get that out," one person quipped in the comments.

"Rumour has it he is still trying to get it back out," another joined in.

Meanwhile, some thought the staff member was clearly also just having a laugh.

"The staff guy was just having a laugh, knowing well what was about to unfold," one person said.

Others empathised with the traveller for trying to avoid the extra fees, with one person sharing, "EasyJet made me pay extra for my carry-on pillow, I still haven't recovered from the shock."

“Worst food ever”: Man slams inflight sandwich with sky-high price

A man who paid for a sandwich on a plane has called out the airline for the “worst food ever”.

Alex was on an easyJet flight from Paris to London Gatwick when he ordered the $9.80 Roasted Vegetable and Hummus Baguette for his trip.

The image on the flight’s menu showed a delicious looking seeded baguette, filled with dozens of pieces of zucchini and red capsicums on a thick layer of hummus.

He was however shocked when the stewardess served him the sandwich which had only a handful of vegetables in the middle of the bread.

Alex shared a video of the sandwich with the caption: “Is this the worst airline food and advertising you’ve ever seen? I then sent the sandwich back, and got me a new one. Is this any better?

“A crew member then told me, ‘You know, the food and the picture are not the same. We were given three minutes to eat before landing, and never got our water.”

A spokesperson for the airline said they were aware of the footage and were investigating the incident.

“We’re aware of this footage and will be looking into this with our in-flight retail supplier as it appears that the item served falls short of the high standards we expect from our in-flight food and drink range for our customers,” they said.

“We will be in touch with the customer to apologise for their experience and provide a gesture of goodwill.”

Mid-flight singalong strikes the wrong chord

A man who sang a Christian worship song while strumming his guitar on board a plane has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

Jonathan Neo was on an easyJet flight when he started to sing to his fellow passengers mid-flight.

Footage of the singing was shared online by the pastor of the group Jack Jensz Jr who captioned it: “Worshipping our King Jesus 30,000 feet in the air!”

The video, which received a whopping 31 million views in just two days, showed a few of the passengers singing along with Jonathan while others looked on angrily.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jack Jensz Jr. (@jackjenszjr_)

Many people in the comments section slammed the group for inconveniencing passengers and for their lack of respect.

“No self awareness here at all. “You are in charge of him”: Easyjet Flight attendant scolds’ family with unruly child and threatens $187 fine

An EasyJet flight attendant has been secretly filmed on a flight scolding the family of a disobedient child.

The footage shows the crew member on the flight ordering a woman to stop their child from standing on the seat.

The clip captures the attendant mid-sentence as she argues with the alleged mother of the toddler.

View this post on Instagram

Here is the @easyjet jobsworth woman. The little boy was about 2 and standing on the seat facing backwards to see his family in the row behind. He wasn’t crying or making any noise or fuss, poor little mite & poor parents! . . re all the comments about safety - she’s telling the child to stand on the floor in the footwell of the seat but not ON the seat, it’s nothing to do with sitting down or safety! If there was an air pocket or turbulence he would have still been hurt standing in the footwell. This is about throwing her weight around and being bossy! There are ways to speak to paying customers and I’m not sure this is it 🤔🤔😲😲 . . Everyone knows how hard a flight is with a toddler let alone having some idiot harass you. The first thing she said which I sadly didn’t get on camera was “IF YOU CAN’T CONTROL YOUR CHILD AND STOP HIM STANDING ON THE SEAT I WILL FINE YOU £100 FOR CLEANING” the little boy didn’t even have shoes on!! . . . If she said that to me I would have got £100 and stuck it in her big gob. One in three flights from this airline arrive late

It was Meatloaf who said, “Two out of three ain’t bad.” But when it comes to arriving at your destination on time, there’s plenty of air travellers who’d like better odds.

A survey of major airlines which covered over 850,000 flights last year examined the “on-time” performance of flights in and out of the UK. And the results are staggering.

The survey found one in three easyJet flights arrived at least 15 minutes late last year, with only 66 per cent of the arrivals meeting industry definition of “on-time”.

Richard Headland, editor of Which? magazine, said: “Flight delays are one of the most annoying things about travelling. These figures show just how frequently flights fail to reach their destination on time.”

A spokesperson for easyJet told The Independent: "easyJet operates the largest number of flights per year of any UK airline and operates in the busiest airports and most congested airspace in Europe.

“Our own data shows easyJet’s network punctuality was 76 per cent in 2016 and is at 80 per cent for 2017.

"We have a continuous focus on punctuality as we know it is important to our customers."

Top of the table overall was the Dutch airline KLM with 88 per cent on time, while the worst performers overall were Norwegian (60 per cent), Icelandair (56) and Air Transat of Canada (55).

Have you flown with any of these carriers?
