71-year old Cher wears Turn Back Time replica outfit at music awards

She had a hit single in the 80s called If I Could Turn Back Time – and it seems that 71-year-old Cher has managed to do exactly that.

The septuagenarian pop star celebrated her 71st birthday by rocking out in the skimpiest of outfits at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

She performed 1998 hit Believe in a barely-there nude bikini and beaded outfit. She then followed it with her 1989 smash If I Could Turn Back Time, wearing strappy leotard similar to the outfit she wore for the song's video, complete with massive curly black wig and thigh-length boots.

I will never get to see @cher in concert, unless there is a millionth farewell tour 😂, but what a goddess! 71! DAMN! pic.twitter.com/xaqz0NUPLa
— E D W A R D (@EdwardWJSmith) May 22, 2017

On accepting the Billboard Music Icon award, Cher paid tribute to her mum.

"I want to thank my mom because when I was really young, my mom said, 'You're not going to be the smartest. You're not going to be the prettiest. You're not going to be the most talented. But you're going to be special,"' she said. "And when I met Sonny, he said the same thing. And there was really nothing about me that led anyone to believe that I was going to be special."

"I think luck has had so much to do with my success," she said. "I think it was luck and a little bit of something thrown in."

Scroll through the gallery above to see Cher's barely there outfits.

Aussie’s full-size Noah’s Ark replica ready to set sail

Earlier this year we told you a Dutch contractor had built a full size replica of Noah’s Ark, the famous boat from the Bible’s Book of Genesis. Well, if this story is anything to go by it looks as though he’s not the only person on the lookout for two of every animal.

Kent Ham, an Australian-born religious leader in the US has created another full-size replica of Noah’s Ark, intending to open it as an attraction to visitors.

Ham left his job as a science teacher in Brisbane over three years ago, moving to the US and eventually going on to become the founder of Answers In Genesis organisation and one of the more polarising figures in America’s notorious Bible Belt.

Ham’s controversial views have somewhat overshadowed the construction of the replica, which as you can see in the video above represents quite an architectural feat.

Local atheist group Tri-State Freethinkers is reportedly planning a protest against Ham’s Ark Encounter experience as it’s set to open on Thursday.

Freethinkers’ founder and president, Jim G Helton, told News.com.au, “We’re not saying he can’t build his park. But we don’t think it’s appropriate for a family fun day.”

What’s your take on the story? Do you think it’s appropriate for Ham to open this part as a family holiday park? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Video credit: YouTube / ABC News

Related links:

Just how much does each day on a cruise cost

5 secret confessions from cruise ship employees

8 reasons why cruising is the perfect family holiday

Inside the $600 million Titanic replica

Clive Palmer’s $600-million-dollar replica of the Titanic is set to sail the high seas in less than two years. The carbon-copy of the world’s most famous “unsinkable” ship is well under construction with a maiden voyage planned for 2018.

Its well know predecessor struck an iceberg and sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912, killing 1503 people. The new ship will be about four metre wider to meet current regulations and, more importantly, it will carry enough lifeboats for every passenger on board. Its hull will also be welded, not riveted, just in case it comes across a rogue iceberg, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

The new nine-deck ship will be 270m long, 53m high and have a maximum speed of 24 knots. She will accommodate 2400 passengers – 177 more than the RMS Titanic.

Businessmen and politician Clive Palmer is at the helm of the ambitious project, and it seems to already be paying off. The mining tycoon’s company, Blue Star, has reportedly been flooded with requests for tickets — with some offering up to about $1,200,000 for a spot on the first trip.

The new Titanic’s maiden voyage will not be from Southampton to New York, but rather Jiangsu, China, to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Scroll through the gallery above to see all the pictures of the new ship and even some comparisons with the original.

Would you be game enough to cruise on the new Titanic? Noah’s ark replica set to hit the high seas

In a carpentry project of biblical proportions, a full size replica of Noah’s Ark has been built in the Netherlands and is set to hit the high seas.

The gigantic boat was built by millionaire Dutch contractor John Huibers between 2008 and 2013 and is quite an achievement, no matter what you believe in.

Mr Huibers hopes to move the massive vessel, with the help of a barge, to Brazil this summer as part of a tour that will see it travel around the world.

Mr Huibers reportedly constructed the modern-day ark replica using the same measurement employed by Noah in the Old Testament chapter.

We don’t think he’s planning to take two of every animal though!

To see the finished product, scroll through the gallery above.

Related links:

Watch this friendly cat meet 50 dogs at a dog show

The story behind Prince George’s presidential photos

Lifeguard helps make wheelchair-bound army vet's dream come true
