David Cassidy completely cuts daughter Katie out of will

The late Partridge Family star David Cassidy has completely cut his estranged daughter, actress Katie Cassidy, from his will, according to documents reported by The Blast.

Instead the late actor and musician left most of his estate to his son Beau, whom he shared with now ex-wife Susan.

According to the publication, David’s will and testament stated that "while he has two children — Beau and Katie — any references to his 'child or children' are only to Beau and not to Katie."

He wrote: “It is my specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy.”

David, who passed away on November 21, 2017 aged 67, left approximately $200,000 in various assets to Beau.

Items considered "music memorabilia" will go to David’s three half-siblings.

The will was filed in 2004 and named Susan as the personal representative, but David's cousin assumed the role after David and Susan divorced in 2016.

Katie, who currently stars on the TV superhero drama Arrow, has had a chequered history with her father.

Following his death, she shared her father’s last words, writing on Twitter: "Words can't express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time. My father’s last words were 'So much wasted time.' This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute....thank you."

But Cassidy and his daughter, whose mother is model Sherry Williams, revealed in an interview with People earlier this year that he was merely her father by biology.

“I never had a relationship with her. I wasn’t her father,” David told People in February. “I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life.”

Katie was mostly raised by her stepfather, Williams’ husband, Dr Richard Benedon.

David Cassidy’s daughter Katie reveals dad’s touching last words

Katie Cassidy has spoken for the first time about her father David Cassidy, who died of organ failure last Tuesday at the age of 67.

Taking to Twitter, the 30-year-old actress wrote: “Words can’t express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time. My father’s last words were ‘So much wasted time.’ This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute… Thank you.”

Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time. She was raised by her mother, former model Sherry Williams, and her stepfather, Richard Benedon, but David still played a role in her life.

“Because I didn’t raise her, I didn’t have to parent her,” David told PEOPLE in 2009. “I’m always here and totally nonjudgmental.”

“To be able to go to someone I’m genetically linked to, tell them anything and know that they’re not going to judge me — it’s unbelievable,” Katie said at the time. “It’s nice when your dad can be your friend.”

But over time, the pair drifted apart. In February, David confessed that the two were not longer in contact.

“I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life,” he explained. “[But] I’m proud of her. She’s very talented. It’s hard for me to even accept how old she is now.”

In addition to Katie, David is survived by son Beau Cassidy, brothers Shaun, Patrick and Ryan, and stepmother Shirley Jones.

“Partridge Family” star David Cassidy has died aged 67

David Cassidy, the pop culture idol of the 1970s has died aged 67, his publicist has confirmed.

The acting and singing Partridge Family star was hospitalised over the weekend with multiple organ failure. His publicist, JoAnn Geffen said on Monday that his family had joined him in hospital. He died in the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital, she said.

The 67-year-old former teen idol said earlier this year that he was struggling with memory loss and that he was ending his 50-year career. Cassidy has had numerous personal problems in the decades following his initial success, ranging from substance abuse to bankruptcy.

Cassidy announced in February he was to retire. His final show, in California, US, showed dementia was taking hold. Videos taken by fans of the singer struggling to remember words to some of his old hits.

The Partridge Family aired from 1970-74 and was intended at first as a vehicle for Shirley Jones, the Oscar winning actress and Cassidy's stepmother. Jones played Shirley Partridge, a widow with five children with whom she forms a popular act that travels on a psychedelic bus. The cast featured a shaggy-haired Cassidy as eldest son and family heartthrob Keith Partridge.

At the height of his popularity, Cassidy commanded a fan base that drew comparisons to those of Elvis Presley and the Beatles, with the New York Times reporting that after a 21-year-old Cassidy's gallbladder was removed in 1971, fans called for the singer's gallstones to be covered in bronze and sold alongside clippings of his hair.

Cassidy's entrails remained off the market, but for several years his likeness was emblazoned on posters, push-out cards, colouring books and lunch boxes, as the band he led on TV - the Partridge Family, a true family outfit that featured his stepmother Shirley Jones - became one of the decade's defining pop music acts, beloved by a mostly female audience and derided by critics who heard only bubble-gum blandness.

e group was a spiritual successor to the Monkees, the "prefab four," who became a hit act in the 1960s after starring in a television show of the same name.

Cassidy was the family band's lead singer and guitarist. The quintet scored its first chart-topper with I Think I Love You in 1970, a breezy pop song written for the program's eighth episode.

Cassidy, a skinny 20-year-old who still looked like a teenager, he said he had little in common with the staid, occasionally stupid youngster he played on television. The son of divorced show business parents - his father was Tony-winning actor Jack Cassidy - he nurtured a love of rock music and artistic pretensions, hoping to parlay his television work into more serious acting.

Republished with permission of Stuff.co.nz.

Megan Gale shamed for having a night out two weeks after giving birth

As most parents will attest to, raising a newborn is one of the most difficult and stressful times in a person’s life. So, when you’ve got a chance to get away for a few hours, you’ve got to take it, right?

Well, Megan Gale, who gave birth to her baby daughter Rosie two weeks ago, did just that with fiance Shaun Hampson over the weekend, only to find herself becoming the unwitting target of cruel online bullies.

The parents-of-two shared a selfie as they went out for a “quick dinner date” recently, confirming both Rosie and River (their three-year-old son) were under the watchful eyes of their grandparents. “Missing our babies, but SO important for parents to have some couple time when/if they can grab it,” Gale wrote.

A post shared by MEGAN GALE (@megankgale) on Oct 6, 2017 at 12:29am PDT

Little did she know, she was about to face an onslaught of comments criticising her for simply trying to relax. Gale’s response to the “mummy shaming”, however, has drawn praise from parents around the country.

“For sure we have to devote the majority of our time to our kids. However, IF it can be managed well, stealing an hour or two here and there as a couple or an individual is a ‘win’ for parents,” she added to the caption.

“In this instance we had left Rosie with my very experienced and capable Mum after I had bathed, dressed, fed her and put her down plus I'd expressed enough milk for two feeds just in case.”

“At the moment she sleeps for 4-5 hours and then feeds again so we knew we had more than enough time for a 1-hour dinner, which was 3 mins from our house. And last night was no exception, she slept 6pm-10.30pm.”

“With River I barely left the house for the first 6 weeks, out of fear, out of guilt and I lost a little part of myself and also developed what I now feel was a mild case of post-natal depression."

“If you’ve ensured your child is well looked after in your absence, then there is nothing wrong with some alone time as a couple or as an individual. You’ll be happier people for it and more importantly, better parents.”

“Oh and to the ignorant, judgemental people projecting negativity on my page, it delights me to inform you that I block and delete instantly. No room for that crap here – this is a place of love and peace. Your comments don't upset me, they just make me smile and make you look nasty.”

Good on you, Megan!

Megan Gale finally reveals newborn daughter’s name

Considering you’re stuck with it your whole life, it makes sense that Megan Gale wanted to get her newborn daughter’s name just right. Now, two weeks after her birth, the 42-year-old model has finally revealed the name she and fiancé Shaun Hampson have picked – Rosie May Dee Hampson.

A post shared by MEGAN GALE (@megankgale) on Oct 5, 2017 at 1:51am PDT

Megan took to Instagram to share the struggle the couple had finding the right name for their new bundle of joy, writing, “We were lucky we had so many great names for this little girl. We just wanted to be really sure that it was the one for her.”

“This was a name I had really liked initially when I was pregnant, Shaun wasn't a fan so I’d crossed it off the list and we focused only on one other name that we both liked. Then when she was born Shaun said she really suited Rosie but we still weren’t 100 per cent [sure] and also still keen on some of the other names too. Talk about indecisiveness!”

“Anyway, yesterday we stared long and hard at her while she was snoozing and it just all came together. No other name seemed to suit her more than Rosie. And the name has a beautiful significance too, much like River’s [the couple’s 3-year-old son]. Rosie is a nod to my Nana (Dad’s Mum, Rosella), May is my Mum’s name, Dee is Shaun’s Mum’s name and obviously Hampson, the family name from Tom, Shaun’s Dad.”

Only time will tell if little Rosie follows in the footsteps of her model mum, but with genes like that, we wouldn’t be surprised!

Megan Gale bravely opens up about miscarriage

One month after she announced her pregnancy in the most adorable way, Aussie model Megan Gale has bravely spoken about her miscarriage for the first time since revealing the news, plus sharing how she’s dealing with preparations for baby number two with boyfriend Shaun Hampson.

“The pregnancy is going well,” she tells Mamamia. “In some ways it is different to my first [pregnancy] because of the experience of going through a miscarriage. I was very conscious to not put a lot of pressure on myself or Shaun or us or as a couple [to fall pregnant again] and let it happen organically. We very were lucky that it happened so quickly.”

However, the Australia’s Next Top Model host admits she still holds fears for the worst. “With my first pregnancy, I knew there were complications but I didn't worry about it as much. With this pregnancy, I have been waiting for every scan and waiting on the edge of my seat for each one to pass.

“I try not to let nerves and stress play a role in it all, but you can't help but wonder - what if it happens again? Shaun spoke about it as a couple and we agreed, whatever will be will be.”

Despite all these fears, Gale admits she “wasn’t nervous” sharing her special news with the world. “On the one hand you're very happy to be at the point where you're safe and secure enough to be able to announce it. When you're in the public eye, you want to let people know what's going on rather than have people speculate. To go under that scrutiny before you're ready is a little bit unfair.”

In a February interview with InStyle, the model mum recalled the tragic moment she found out she’d lost the baby. “I hopped up on the table and [my obstetrician] put the ultrasound on my tummy. He just kept moving it and not saying anything and I started to feel sick. He was quiet, and then he just said, ‘I’m so sorry, it’s gone.’”

We wish all the best for Megan and Shaun with baby number two.

Where are they now: The Partridge Family

They were the singing family that took the world by storm in the 1970s, and although it was cancelled after four seasons in 1974, The Partridge Family’s musical legacy lives on. Let’s take a look back at the show’s stars and find out what they did next.
