“Absolute monster”: Bridezilla slammed for unreasonable bridesmaid rules

A woman has shared the reason she quit her best friend’s bridal party, after she was presented with a 14-page contract to be a bridesmaid.

The woman was excited to celebrate her friend Laura’s wedding to the love of her life James, and shared how Laura was a very regimented bride.

“We began planning everything, having multiple meetings to make sure we all are up to date on all plans,” the bridesmaid said in a Reddit thread.

“She is a bit of a neat person and very organised. She made all five bridesmaids and her maid of honour a binder of our duties... We keep track of appointments, vendors — pretty standard stuff.”

“But that’s not all that’s in there.”

The bridesmaid then shared an extensive list of rules the bridal party had to follow for the big day in relation to their physical appearance.

The list included 12 bizarre rules about how they were to look on the big day, saying everyone must wear size-eight dresses, tattoos must be covered or removed and brown eyes are banned.

“No visible tattoos. Must be removed or covered with makeup. No jackets or long sleeves to cover them,” the bride began in the extensive list.

“Full head of hair. No shaved sides or back. Must have a professional wig on if a haircut is not acceptable.”

“Hair can not be too short. It must be able to be braided. Also if your hair is too long like to your waist, it will need to be cut. Hair must be blonde or black. I will tell you what colour is best for you.

“You must fit into a size eight dress. I don’t want to see tents (too big) or rolls (too tight). Dresses have been ordered at size eight only.”

“No brown eyes. That’s James’ and my eye colour so you will need to get contacts. Blue is required.”

Other things banned in the bridal party are “harsh tans”, visible scars and eyeglasses.

“Get contacts or go without for the day,” the bride added.

The bridesmaid felt the rules were directed at her, as she was furious with her friend and decided to leave the bridal party.

“Here is where I started to backpedal and want to walk away,” she said.

“I have very thick but fine hair. I keep the sides shaved down and the top and back long like halfway down my back which helps my migraines.”

“I also have an Eeyore tattoo and a bear paw print tattoo that shows. I also just had bariatric (gastric sleeve) surgery so I’m working on losing weight. I also have glasses.”

Upon looking through the contract, she was mortified to see what the bride expected of her bridesmaids.

“The final kick in the pants was the contract — 14 pages front and back of everything we are required to do. Like not getting pregnant, attend meetings and events, as well as constantly communicate,” the bridesmaid said.

Along with the demands, the bridesmaids were each required to gift the bride and groom a minimum of $150 and “some type of expensive alcohol”, along with a $400 fee to be a bridesmaid.

“I tried to explain I can’t afford this and she told me I had to figure it out. I figured she lost a bridesmaid, me.”

In a follow-up post, the bridesmaid confirmed she was no longer in the bridal party after she quit.

“I am not doing the wedding. The bride is mad but I don’t care,” she said.

Her post has been met with more than 640 comments, with many describing the bride as an “absolute monster”, “cruel” and a “bully” over her outrageous demands.

Image credits: Getty Images / Reddit

Bridezilla or brilliant? List of wedding rules hits the spot

Kennedy Marks is neither engaged nor expecting to be any time soon. However, that has not stopped her from devising a super comprehensive list of exactly what will and will not happen on her wedding day.

The 22-year-old from Devon in the UK has posted a now-viral video to TikTok explaining the rules she will expect guests to observe. The list is reasonably lengthy, with 13 rules to be precise.

The list includes rules such as “no phones,” “don’t stress me out, ask my mum,” and no children “unless pre-approved.”

“I don’t want children screaming during the ceremony, I don’t want children running on the dance floor when I’m trying to do my first dance because you’re at the bar,” she says.

No “boring” people will be allowed, and anyone who has the gall to step on the dance floor during the first dance will be “dragged off and never seen again.”

Other rules on the list include: No-one else wearing white (otherwise “a bottle of red wine will be poured on you”); not to automatically expect you can bring a plus-one; and no-one to make any “big announcements.”

“Please, for the love of God, do not take the attention away from me.

In a follow up video, Kennedy explained some more of her rules.

“No rudeness to staff or you’re out, I want them to dance, I want them to have fun, I want them to have a good shift,” she says.

“No phones at the ceremony, I don’t want all of my photos to be on phones, I want to enjoy the moment, let’s all embrace it.”

The clip has surpassed almost 700,000 views and the reactions have been diverse. Some have applauded Kennedy for knowing just what she wants, while others have of course branded her a “Bridezilla.”

“This is the list I needed,” one follower wrote.

The full rule list:

1. No-one else wearing white.

2. No children (unless approved).

3. Don’t assume an invitation for a plus-one.

4. No big announcements.

5. No-one to use the microphone unless approved.

6. Don’t stress me out, ask my mum.

7. No boring people.

8. If me or (boyfriend) Rhys have never met you, you aren’t coming.

9. No rudeness to staff or you’re out.

10. No phones in the ceremony.

11. Anyone on the dancefloor on my first dance will be dragged off.

12. Guests wear whatever you’re comfortable in.

13. Full use of my photographer after my photos.

Images: TikTok

No grandma: Bride slammed over wedding request

Bridezilla reveals ridiculous dress code for guests based on how much they weigh

A bride has come under fire for setting a very specific dress code for her wedding guests according to their weight.

Taking to Facebook to share the ridiculous guidelines, one guest revealed the number of items the bride expects her guests to purchase for a choreographed group dance.

“The dress code is very specific because it will be used to create an incredible visual effect,” wrote the bride.

“If done right, it will make our synchronised dancing along the beach really pop.”

If guests are female and weigh less than 71kg, they need to don a green velvet jumper, orange suede pants and a Burberry scarf.

Those women who weigh above 72kg must opt for an all-black outfit consisting of pants, jumpers and shoes.

Men are not exempt from the bizarre dress code either, with those weighing under 90kg expected to come in a purple fuzzy jacket, a soda hat, all white trainers and plain glow sticks.

But if their weight is above 90kg, then they must come in a full camouflage with black sneakers.

The bride-to-be has also set a strict dress code for children, requesting them to wear red from head to toe, as they will be used to create a heart.

“It needs to be true red, not blood orange or some bulls***!” She said.

But that’s not all, as after the dance routine, guests are expected to change into formal clothing as the wedding is held at an “extremely upscale” venue.

“Please, if you look like trash, so will we. All jokes aside, we want you to invest in an outfit valued at at least $1000,” she wrote.

“This includes jewellery, accessories, makeup and hair. Remember ladies and gents, this wedding is 24k themed for a reason.”

The bridezilla concluded the list of demands with a firm reminder that they have a year-and-a-half to organise their outfits and she doesn’t want to hear excuses.

After viewing the post, many users responded with criticism and disbelief, especially because she wants them to wear fuzzy jumpers during summer.

“She basically wants the women to look like fuzzy palm trees,” said one person.

“If you want me to wear at least $1000 in clothes, jewellery etc. You best be buying that stuff for me or reimbursing me for stuff I won’t wear again,” said another.

Many believe the post to be a hoax, but those invited to the wedding have insisted that the list of demands is definitely real.

What do you think of this bridezilla’s extreme dress code request for guests? Tell us in the comments below.
