Tiger casually walks along Gold Coast beach

A tiger cub from Dreamworld on the Gold Coast has stunned onlookers when she casually strolled along Main Beach, dipping her paws in the ocean just like the rest of us.

Adira the tiger cub was given the excursion of a lifetime yesterday morning, when handlers and police took her to the water’s edge in a novel – yet beautiful – attempt to raise awareness for tiger conservation.

“Only 100 years ago, there were more than 100,000 tigers roaming the forests of Asia and Russia,” director of the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation Al Mucci said in a statement. “Today, tigers are critically endangered with less than 3,000 left in the wild.”

Adira was chosen from the park’s seven adult tigers and five cubs to take a walk along the beach to raise funds for the conservation of her species, and one lucky photographer had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the big cat, snapping some gorgeous – and surreal – photos of the experience.

“Tigers in the wild would often encounter new environments and situations so it was a very enriching experience for Adira,” Mucci explained. “She seems to have loved her first, and most-likely only, visit to a Gold Coast beach.

Take a look at Adira’s morning by the sea in the gallery above. The images truly are beautiful and perfectly capture the majesty and dignity of these incredible creatures.

Related links:

Tiny kitten rescued from the middle of highway

Dog trapped in barn for six years finally gets a haircut

Cows casually stroll through women’s front yard

Cows casually stroll through women’s front yard

A woman from Dundee City in Scotland has woken to the unusual sigh of a herd of cows casually strolling through her front lawn. Now we’ve seen everything!

Gemma Reid told The Courier, "Barely a day goes by without seeing cows trampling past the front door...It has certainly been a talking point round here. At first it was mildly amusing but it is getting faintly ridiculous now."

The herd serves as Reid’s regular wakeup call, walking past her home at 6:30am every day. Now that’s a test of whether or not you’re a morning person.

Quite frankly, with neighbours like this we’d be keen to moo-ve.

Have you ever had an odd encounter with an animal?

Let us know in the comments.

Video credit: Facebook / Gemma Reid

Related links:

15 incredible photos of baby animals in the womb

A pony, a donkey and a cow walked into a pub

Cows save stranded seal pup

Dog caught casually sitting in plane seat

Meet the dog, who is really going place…

The clever canine was spotted on a flight by confused passengers wondering how the dog had managed to snag the coveted emergency exit row seat.

A traveller snapped a photo of the unaccompanied pooch sitting patiently in his plane seat and posted the photo on the internet. Other travellers tweeted the behaviour of the pooch, who was apparently calm and collected throughout the entirety of the fight. (Perhaps he had some in-flight drinks?)

Dog in the Emergency Exit row 😂 @Delta pic.twitter.com/AVIYf1Hhcr
— Nick Weathers (@NickWeathers14) January 26, 2016

The Delta flight, which was your standard human airplane service, travelled from Atlanta to Tennessee in the US.

Information on how the situation occurred are still scarce. Delta airlines has been contacted for comment but it seems even they’re not sure how a dog managed to get onto a plane as a passenger rather than as a pet.

Related links:

These dogs have no concept of personal space

Inside a tea factory from the 50s

30 common plants that are harmful to pets
