70s singer finally marries fiancé after almost 50 years together

Denise Nolan, 72, has finally tied the knot with her long-term partner Tom Anderson, aged 77.

The couple who have been together for 47 years and engaged for around three decades got married in a ceremony in their hometown of Blackpool.

"I had a fabulous day," she revealed to OK magazine.

Despite being together for so long, the couple revealed that they never felt the need to rush into their marriage.

"We've been together now for 47 years and we love each other. We got engaged about 30 years ago, but we didn't think we needed the piece of paper to say that," she continued.

"He's asked me to marry him a few times but usually when he's had a drink and is feeling sentimental! Then I mention it to him the next day and he runs a mile."

Denise, who was one part of the popular Irish family band The Nolans said that the decision to finally tie the knot was partially prompted by Tom's Parkinson's diagnosis in 2018.

She explained that they "didn't want to wait until further down the line where he might be a lot worse and it could be hard work".

For the big day, the pair sat next to each other at the alter of The Wedding Chapel on Blackpool Promenade.

"Everybody was crying, even Tom was sobbing," Denise said.

"I also picked Frank Sinatra's Love And Marriage because I thought, 'I have to have a comic song in there,' and we're all Sinatra addicts in our family. As we walked back down the aisle we had Tom singing Love Will Keep Us Together. To be able to choose all out own music was really special for us."

In her speech during the reception, Denise said: "Meeting you was fate, becoming your partner was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control."

The couple first met while Denise was in her band and Tom was working as a resident drummer at the London Rooms in London's West End.

They have been inseparable since and now live in Blackpool with some family nearby.

Images: Instagram

"Shame on you!”: Dr Teo’s rumoured fiancée comes to his defence

Dr Charlie Teo’s alleged fiancée and former patient has spoken out publicly in defence of the disgraced surgeon and slammed recent media reports.

Traci Griffiths hit out at reports initiated through a joint investigation by 60 Minutes and Nine newspapers, resulting in claims emerging from disgruntled patients and their families that Dr Teo offered them false hope in performing procedures.

One patient claimed Dr Teo operated on the wrong side of her brain, but the 64-year-old surgeon has since rejected and corrected this claim.

In the aftermath of these claims, Griffiths took to social media to defend Dr Teo, sharing a quote from Mister Rogers: “Honesty is often very hard. “A pain in the a***”: Security expert reveals why woman posing as Prince Andrew’s fiancée got past security

A woman claiming to be Prince Andrew’s fiancée was able to get past security because staff were too “terrified” to check with the royal according to a specialist detective.

The Spanish woman claimed to be Irene Windsor and was due to have dinner with the Duke of York when she arrived at the security gate of the Royal Lodge in Winsdor last April, and was allowed in without her identification checked.

Her cab fare was even paid for by security officers, with her cover eventually blown when she entered the building and a suspicious staff member alerted police - but not before she walked around the grounds for up to 40 minutes.

Philip Grindell, the founder of VIP security firm Defuse and a former specialist detective with the Met Police, has now claimed that staff were reluctant to check the woman’s story with Prince Andrew because of his reputation.

Grindell, who was responsible for planning and running security measures for high-profile events that included those with royals and the military, made the claims while speaking at the International Security Expo in London, describing the royal as an “unpleasant character”.

"Prince Andrew is a pain in the a*** and if you have ever worked with him, is an unpleasant character and the security were terrified of asking him 'is anyone turning up?'” Grindell said.

"And because they did not want to upset him, no one asked and they assumed he must have an appointment and let her in.

"The security were terrified of asking him."

Paul Page, a former Met Police royal protection officer, separately shared a similar account about working with the controversial royal.

"When I heard this it became blatantly obvious that the security involved were in the same position with Prince Andrew as I was 20 years ago, in that they were too frightened to question unidentified female visitors as it would always end in him abusing us for stopping them,” he said at the expo.

"This is a classic example of what we feared would happen one day."

At the time, the woman was found with maps of the Royal Lodge and other royal residences, as well as a self-defence key ring with two sharp prongs.

She was arrested on suspicion of burglary before being sectioned under the Mental Health Act and eventually released without charge.

Image: Getty Images

A bride-to-be has slammed her fiancé for the hideous engagement ring he proposed with despite her explaining which one she wanted.

The woman vented her frustration in a Facebook group explaining how she tried hard not to hate the ring.

She then shared two images - one of the ring she was given, and another of the $8,859 mint sapphire ring she wanted.

“I was very excited for the proposal, then this thing came out of the box,” her post read.

“First thing I said was ‘omg that's massive’. I didn't like it at all but I spent a few hours trying not to hate it so much.”

To make matters worse, the sizing of the ring was completely wrong to the point where it got stuck on her finger.

This might have been a sign as the bride-to-be had to be taken to hospital to have the ring cut from her finger.

“The pegs were trying to cut me at every opportunity, and it was way too tight. I did get measured, twice, and I sent him my measurements from every country, but the jeweller f****d up still.” she continued in her rant.

“I'm devastated and crying. He can't get me another ring because it won't be possible before the wedding. I'll never be engaged for real.”

She asked other group members to make her laugh but instead they advised her to reconsider the relationship after not getting what she asked for.

"Sounds like you are compromising a lot and not getting any of what you want in return. Postpone the wedding. Don't do it this way. If he isn't even listening or caring now... well.. I speak from experience and a divorce,' one woman said.

“This was obviously important to you and if he can’t listen and respect you enough to do this right it sounds like there might be bigger issues at play,' one person wrote.

“Would you consider postponing the wedding for a while. Is this a one off? The fact that he didn’t listen to what you had expressed you would like to receive doesn’t bode well. I get he may have been coming from a place of well meaning but you told him exactly what you would like and he totally disregarded it. Please don’t rush into marriage,” another suggested.

“If you still feel this is the man you want to spend your life with tell him you would like a long engagement with the ring of your choice and if he can’t respect that then you have a pretty good idea of what you are getting in to,” someone else commented.

The woman was not having any of it and replied to the comments in defence of her future husband.

“In general he's amazing. I genuinely thought I'm going to get a beautiful ring. I was actually in shock how bad it is because I never saw it coming,” she began.

“I also blame the jeweller a lot more than him, I mean I'm sad he didn't get me the one I wanted as it is for sale but the jeweller did everyone dirty the most in this scenario.”

She also revealed that they eventually went shopping together and purchased a new ring.

Images: Facebook

Bitter groom sells ex-fiancée’s dress in angry post

A bitter groom selling his ex-fiancée’s wedding dress has been called out for his nastiness in the ad in which he claims she cheated on him.

Photos of the wedding dress were shared to Facebook Marketplace for just £5 ($A9) in which he then claimed he had a lucky escape.

He labelled the dress size as “size fat” before giving viewers an idea of why the wedding was called off.

“Wedding dress – would fit the larger lady, quite chavvy in style so would suit a cheap sl**per,” he wrote.

“It’s a size 12 I think – she was prone to lying so it’s possibly a 14/16.”

Within the post, he accused his ex of cheating on him and he just wanted to get rid of the dress.

Viewers however sided with the bride, claiming she was the one who had a lucky escape from his disgusting comments.

“Somehow I think it’s she who had the lucky escape,” one wrote.

“This says more about him than it does her,” someone said.

“I think it's a beautiful dress. She's probably the lucky one to get out of the relationship,” another commented.

There were a few people who sided with the groom who said he was probably venting after getting hurt.

“Everyone thinking she had a lucky escape when it sounds like he was cheated on. Who hasn’t said crap about an ex,” one wrote.

“Maybe she broke his heart and he’s venting?” asked another.

“All the ‘she’s had a lucky escape’ comments but if it was a girl trashing a guy’s car they’d all be hyping her up! Double standards,” another added.

Images: TikTok

“No, I hate it so much”: Woman’s reaction to engagement ring goes viral

A woman who hated the engagement ring her fiancé bought her has forced him to swap it out for one that’s DOUBLE its price.

The bride-to-be took to TikTok and shared the story to her 450 followers about how she was “not being too much” for asking to swap the ring.

“I asked him to replace it, so I’m probably going to get a lot of hate for this and honestly, I’m OK with that; I’m aware I’m a lot,” she said.

She explained the pair had been dating for a while but the whole time she was in “marriage headspace”.

The woman said she explained to her boyfriend specifically what she wanted: “I want a ring with a halo. I want the little diamonds around the main ring.”

“Don’t talk to me about marriage,” she claims he said.

The woman however said that she would not move in with him unless he proposed.

She emphasised that she “didn’t care about the size, cut, or clarity of the diamond” and that all she wanted was a “little halo on the inside diamond”.

“The time comes, he proposed and it literally was a princess cut diamond with no halo. It was a beautiful diamond, but it was just not what I wanted,” she rambled on.

“So after he proposed I literally went home and my mum was like, ‘Do you like the ring?’

“And I like bawled, I was like, ‘No I hate it so much and I have to wear it forever.’”

It took her a week to tell her boyfriend that she was not happy with the ring and that she wanted a new one.

“I called him and was like, ‘Hey this is going to be a hard pill to swallow but like I hate the ring – it is just not what I wanted and I am willing to wait for something that I do want but like I just need you to know that. Can we try and fix this?” she asked.

“All is well in the world. He was able to get a refund and swap it out and it was fine … I made him pay double for the ring because he took me to the store and I told him what I liked.”

Image: TikTok

Couple may have accidentally photographed Gabby Petito’s missing fiancé in selfie

An unsuspecting couple may have inadvertently photographed Brian Laundrie, fiancé of Gabby Petito and person of interest in her case, while holidaying in Florida days before she was reported missing.

Marci and Kenny Newsom were staying at Fort De Soto Campground in Pinellas, Florida, on the weekend of September 6. Speaking to WBBH, Ms Newson said "Apparently, they were at the campground when we were there, and they were right next to us," referring to Laundrie and his parents. The campground is approximately 120km from the Laundrie family home in Northport, Florida.

In the photo the Newsoms took with friends, a figure can be seen walking in the background, and the Newsoms believe this figure is Brian Laundrie. While this can’t be confirmed, Ms Newsom told WBBH that the three campers who stayed next to them kept to themselves, adding, "They were there, and then they weren't."

Earlier this week, Dog the Bounty Hunter said he was able to confirm Laundrie had stayed at a campsite with his parents that weekend. He told Fox News, “We had a very good lead come up today that he was down here in this park, not far away. We checked our lead out. It is confirmed. The parents were down here two times.

“It was September 1-3 and September 6-8. They registered to stay at this park. Allegedly, what we’re hearing, is ... three people came in on the 6th and two people left on the 8th. I think he’s been here, for sure. He was here, for sure. Not over in the swamp.”

Documents seen by CNN show Laundrie’s mother checked out of the campground on September 11, three days before Gabby was reported missing. Laundrie’s parents said on September 17 they had last seen their son three days earlier.

The search for Brian Laundrie has been ongoing, with reports of sightings being made from all over Florida. Laundrie is wanted in relation to a federal arrest warrant relating to his actions after Gabby’s death, when he allegedly used a debit card and PIN for accounts that did not belong to him for charges exceeding $1000 between August 30 and September 1.

Images: Instagram, Marci Newsom

Gabby Petito's father slam's her fiancé

Gabby Petito's father has appeared on Dr. Phil to urge her fiancé Brian Laundrie to come forward with information on what took place on their road trip.

Joseph Petito appeared in the special episode shortly before it was confirmed that his daughter has died by homicide, as he slammed Brian and his family for refusing to cooperate in the investigation over her disappearance.

Brian Laundrie has been identified as a person of interest in the case, and has recently disappeared from his home in Florida after refusing to help the police.

“We called every [Laundrie] number we could find and no phone calls were picked up, no text messages were returned,” Joseph told Dr. Phil.

“You’d think when someone says ‘we’re about to call the police’ to find your missing kid, you’d return a phone call."

"I mean, that’s just what logic would dictate for normal people. You don’t get any response, that just makes it more and more concerning.”

Mr Petito slammed his daughter's fiancé for leaving Gabby on the road trip alone and driving back to Florida without her.

“It’s not even his van!” he said. “You came home without her, you had her van in your driveway for 10 days.”

He added, “You think it’s okay to leave a young 22-year-old in the middle of nowhere?”

Joseph went on to quote a statement released by the Laundrie family, as he ripped their words apart.

After reciting their statement, in which they wrote that it’s “really hard on the Laundrie family and the Petito family,” Mr. Petito says in response, “Well, my child is nowhere to be found and I’m not getting any answers on where to even start."

“So don’t sit there and tell me how difficult it is for you because you’ve got reporters on your block.”

The statement also claims that the family "want the search to be successful", to which Joseph fired back saying, "Well, I don’t know about you, but if I want something to be successful, I will assist in making it successful. Not sit in the background.”

Becoming emotional, Joseph took his opportunity to address Brian directly and tried to appeal to his daughter's fiancé.

“If you love this person and she’s your fiancé, you should turn around and lead the damn charge. You should be number one, and I should be number two,” he said.

Dr. Phil then asks Joseph what he would say to his daughter if she was listening, and if she was still alive.

Mr Petito said, “Gabby, let me come and get you. I will bring you to my home and I will shelter you from all of this crap until you’re ready.”

“I don’t care about anything else but my daughter’s wellbeing.”

In the days following the interview, FBI officials and the Teton County Coroner ruled Petito’s death as a homicide, however the cause of death is yet to be determined, pending final autopsy results.

Watch the full interview below:

Image credit: Dr. Phil / Instagram @gabspetito

Heartbroken bride honours dead fiancé in beautiful photoshoot

Debbie Gerlach may have lost her fiancé to a tragic accident nine months before they were set to wed, but that didn’t stop her from dressing up as a bride and taking photos with the man she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with.

Debbie was getting ready to marry the love of her life, Randy Zimmerman, on November 11, 2018, but before that, Randy had his life taken away from him after a motorbike accident in February.

However, Debbie couldn’t let go that easily, as she wanted him by her side in what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives.

A few months prior, Debbie took part in a solo photoshoot where she donned her wedding dress and posed in the Tucson, Arizona, desert.

Then on November 11, the day that would have been their wedding, she shared the photos online, but the photos show more than one person, because standing by Debbie’s side is Randy.

The post garnered a huge response with over 308K reactions and 29K comments.

The photographer behind the emotional photoshoot is Kristie Fonseca who regularly photoshops deceased loved ones in photographs that she’s taken.

“I actually enjoy taking on challenges like this because, if portrayed with love and passion, the end result will be forever cherished,” she says.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Kristie recalls the moment Debbie approached her with her idea: “When I first spoke with Debbie, she told me her tragic story and asked if I was able to insert her fiancé into what should have been their special day. A special day that was carelessly stolen from her.

“After listening to her heartbreaking story, I just knew I had to do something very special for her.”

Kristie knew immediately that these photographs had to be perfect.

“It was supposed to be her day. It was supposed to be the day they expressed their love for each other. My thoughts were going a mile a minute coming up with ideas, poses and images that would mimic her special day with him.”

The setting was an isolated desert, and the focal point was Debbie, who stood there in a white gown. Each image pays tribute to Randy, with him standing by Debbie’s side.

Whether he sat on a motorcycle behind her, or where he’s kissing her cheek, the photographs make sure that his presence will never be forgotten.

“I started the session as I normally would for a bridal shoot, and then I posed her for some as if he was there,” Fonseca explained.

“She naturally posed for the photos as if he was standing right beside her.

“Her smile had a warmth as if he was talking to her. Even though he wasn’t there, she moved as if he was.”

The end result was loved by Debbie, but she planned to keep it from the world until what was supposed to be their wedding day.

Alongside the photos, Debbie hoped to spread awareness on road safety, as she captioned it: “Please I beg each and every one of you that reads this post, WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES, stop at stop signs and drive with care because you never know whose whole world is on that bike.

“Maybe if that person stopped, I’d be marrying Randy, my best friend, the love of my life.”

What do you think of these touching photos of Debbie and her beloved Randy? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Will you?”

The texts also included selfies of the pair and immediately Casey knew “there was no questioning the legitimacy” of the screenshots.

Casey said every message was a “dagger to her heart”, but didn’t know what to do as the wedding would be taking place in a few hours and it was already paid for.

So she hatched a plan for the next day.

“I was going to go ahead with the wedding as expected, and ‘out’ him in front of our friends and family,” she said.

After walking down the wedding aisle the following day, Casey announced there would be “no wedding” instead of reading her vows.

“It seems Alex is not who I thought he was,” she told her guests, before reading out every single message he had sent to the other woman.

"Your body is f***ing incredible. And s** do you know how to use it. I wish my GF (girlfriend) had half the skills you do."

"I miss you so much…I’ve never had this kind of connection before."

All colour left Alex’s face and Casey let her weeping eyes rise and meet his.

The embarrassed groom didn’t have anything to say but walked out of the church in shame with his best man close behind him.

“I love all of you and as horrible as this is, I’m glad you all are here,” Casey bravely told her guests.

“There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts.”

Although it was not the day Casey has planned, she said despite the heartbreak, the reception was “one hell of a party”.

*Names changed for confidentiality
