Never-before-seen footage shows moments after JFK assassination

Never-before-seen footage of aftermath of United States President John F. Kennedy's assassination has emerged, more than six decades after his murder.

The film footage will soon be sold through RR action, and shows the moment JFK's motorcade sped toward Parkland Hospital as Clint Hill, Jackie Kennedy’s Secret Service agent, shields both her and the president.

"This is remarkable, in colour, and you can feel the 80mph (130km/h)," said Bobby Livingston, executive vice president of the auction house.

The 8mm home film was captured by Dale Carpenter Sr. and began with him filming other vehicles in the motorcade as it travelled down Lemmon Avenue toward the city centre.

The film then picks up after Kennedy was shot, and shows Clint Hill - who famously jumped onto the back of the limousine as the shots were fired - hovering in a standing position over the president and first lady.

"I did not know that there were not any more shots coming," Agent Hill, who is now 92-years-old, said.

"I had a vision that, yes, there probably were going to be more shots when I got up there as I did."

In an interview with People magazine, he said that the discovery of the film is “an emotional thing for me because I know what has happened. I know what I’m seeing in that film is a dead president.”

The assassination itself was famously captured on film by Abraham Zapruder, and according to Livingston, the executive vice president of the auction house, the footage captured by Carpenter is "unlike any other footage known to exist".

"This film captures a segment immediately following the Zapruder film, providing a fresh perspective on one of the most analyzed moments in history," he continued.

"Once you see it, you'll never forget Clint Hill's heroic efforts to protect Mrs. Kennedy, racing at 80 miles an hour in a desperate attempt to save the president's life as they sped to Parkland."

Carpenter's grandson, James Gate, said that his family had always known about the footage, but they rarely talked about the footage which was stored along with other family films in a milk crate.

It wasn't until after his grandfather's death from Parkinson's disease when his mother decided to hand down family mementos and the film landed in Gate's possession.

While he was initially underwhelmed by the film when he watched the footage, it was when he saw the aftermath of the assassination that he was "shocked".

In 2012, Gates got in touch with Agent Hill and his wife Lisa McCubbin Hill, to show them the footage.

Agent Hill's wife said that while knew about the events that unfolded on the tragic day, "to see the footage of it actually happen ... just kind of makes your heart stop."

“When you see the president’s limousine, you see Clint on the back of the car. To see the speed of the car and how precarious that was — Clint is still trying to protect the president and Mrs. Kennedy from whatever else might be coming.

"One slip and he would have gone flying off and he would have been killed,” she told People magazine.

Stephen Fagin, curator at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which tells the story of the assassination on November 22, 1963, said: "These images, these films and photographs, a lot of times they are still out there. They are still being discovered or rediscovered in attics or garages."

The film will be up for auction in northeastern US city of Boston on September 28, with online bidding already underway.

Images: RR Auction / Public Domain

“This is the guy”: Shocking new footage of Trump shooting released

New footage has emerged from the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, as investigations continue into the shooting.

Graphic new bodycam footage has shown local authorities speaking to a Secret Service agent after the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was gunned down at a Trump rally.

The footage shows the moment authorities climbed onto the roof where Crooks was positioned, and captures the moment police identify the shooter as a suspicious person.

One man, who appears to be a Secret Service agent, tells a Beaver County Emergency Services Unit (ESU) officer that Crooks’ body appeared to be the person who was previously reported to them for suspicious activity.

“So this is the guy,” the agent says, as the Beaver County ESU officer replies, “This is him.”

The ESU officer also says a police sniper took photos of Crooks, including of him on a bicycle, according to the footage.

“That’s the sniper that sent the original picture and seen him come from the bike and set the book bag down and then lost sight of him,” the officer tells the apparent Secret Service agent.

Crooks’ gunfire grazed Mr Trump’s ear and hit three rally-goers, killing 50-year-old volunteer firefighter and married father-of-two Corey Comperatore, before the gunman was quickly shot and killed by a Secret Service agent.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley a Republican, called on the Secret Service to release more information to the public about the attempted assassination as the federal law enforcement agency faces fierce criticism over security failures at the rally.

“Federal agencies, particularly the Secret Service, have failed to be transparent with the American people,” Mr Grassley said in a statement.

“This assassination attempt is a matter of substantial public interest, and the public’s business ought to be public.”

Image credits: Beaver County ESU / Bethel Park School District

Leaked footage shows Olympic star's horrific animal abuse

The extent of dressage star Charlotte Dujardin's "error of judgement" has been revealed, just hours after she made the snap decision to withdraw from the Olympics just days before its commencement.

The British dressage star, who is a three-time gold medallist and the joint most-decorated British female Olympian, withdrew and accepted a provisional six-month ban when coming clean about her acts of animal abuse in the lead up to the Paris Games.

Just hours after announcing her withdrawal from the equestrian events, a disturbing video of a training session began to circulate, in which she is alleged to have beaten a horse with a long whip 24 times in one minute.

The video, first released by Good Morning Britain, was taken four years ago and allegedly showed the 39-year-old mistreating a horse when trying to get the animal to slowly trot during a lesson with a young student.

With the trainee rider mounted on the horse, Dujardin can allegedly be seen whipping the horse’s legs repeatedly.

The video has outraged many, with hundreds of people taking to social media to voice their shock and horror at the acts.

Leading British social commentator David Kurten wrote on X, “The cruel abuse of this horse by Charlotte Dujardin is horrific and a stain on our nation."

“Two urgent questions need answers: Did she whip horses regularly? Are dozens or hundreds of other dressage horses regularly whipped and abused by other trainers?”

Former editor of Horse and Hound Lucy Higginson also added, “It has profoundly shocked everybody in the equestrian world.”

The video was sent anonymously to the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), who made the choice to suspend Dujardin just days before the Paris Olympics are set to begin.

“The FEI has officially announced the provisional suspension of British Dressage athlete Charlotte Dujardin effective immediately from the date of notification, 23 July 2024,” it said in a statement.

“This decision renders her ineligible to participate in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games or any other events under the jurisdiction of the FEI.”

“According to the information received, the footage was allegedly taken several years ago during a training session conducted by Ms Dujardin at a private stable,” the organisation said.

The governing body said Dujardin had confirmed she was depicted in the video and had acknowledged that her conduct was “inappropriate”.

“Charlotte Dujardin requested to be provisionally suspended pending the outcome of the investigations and voluntarily withdrew from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and also confirmed that she will not participate in any competitions pending the outcome of the FEI’s investigation,” it said.

“The FEI condemns any conduct contrary to the welfare of horses and has robust rules in place to address such behaviour.”

When announcing her withdrawal from the Games, Dujardin said she made an "error of judgement", saying there was "no excuse" for her behaviour.

She wrote in a statement on Instagram, “What happened was completely out of character and does not reflect how I train my horses or coach my pupils, however there is no excuse. I am deeply ashamed and should have set a better example in that moment.”

Image credits: Instagram / Good Morning Britain

Rare footage captures secluded tribe emerging from the Amazon

Remarkable new footage has captured one of the world's most secluded tribes, who have been known for firing arrows at outsiders who get too close, as they emerged from the Amazon rainforest in Peru.

The tribe were spotted near several controversial logging sites that have been making clearings throughout the forest, decimating their home lands.

According to the Indigenous rights advocacy group Survival International, members of the Mashco Piro tribe, believed to be the biggest group of indigenous people living with no outside contact, were spotted near the Las Piedras River a few kilometres from tree-cutting projects in Southeastern section of the country.

“This is irrefutable evidence that many Mashco Piro live in this area, which the government has not only failed to protect, but actually sold off to logging companies,” local Indigenous organisation Fenamad’s President Alfredo Vargas Pio said.

Near the remote villages of Monte Salvado and Puerto Nuevo, the tribe emerged in search of food, with President Pio voicing concerns that violent fights could break out between loggers and the Indigenous people.

He also added that the outside loggers could potentially bring new diseases to the area, which could wipe out the tribe.

According to Survival International, Indigenous advocates have urged authorities to pull the certifications from the logging companies to protect the tribes.

Logging company Canales Tahuamanu has been granted permission to log on the jungle land since 2002 with its invasive activity now sprawled out over 193 square miles, The Washington Post reported.

The publication also reported that the firm also has a history of clashing with local tribes, although in the past, the firm said its workers have never reported seeing any Mashco Piro people and has complied with laws in Peru, where it is illegal to contact the tribe.

Despite the Mashco Piro tribe’s seclusion, they have had limited contact with outsiders, with most of their rare contact resulting in violence, as they have been known for fire arrows at tourists boats and park rangers as warnings not to approach the area.

“Stay awake!”: Incredible bodycam footage of Jeremy Renner rescue

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT - VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.

It’s been three months since Jeremy Renner almost lost his life to a horrific snow plough accident, and new footage has surfaced from the incident.

In a gut-wrenching video, medics

can be seen desperately trying to save the Hawkeye actor after his 6,500kg Snowcat vehicle ran him over on New Years Day, 2023.

Renner was left in critical condition with extensive injuries at the scene of the incident in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

The Marvel star was using his snow plough to clear a path out of his home following a massive snowstorm, according to the New York Post.

The mighty storm saw over 35,000 people without power in the area.

New police bodycam footage from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office showed the scene just moments after Renner’s devastating accident.

The footage shows a team of five medics in a desperate attempt to save the star, who suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.

“It was horrible. I thought he was going to die, man. I’m holding him and his colour is just going,” a person at the scene said.

Renner’s accident occurred just moments after he stepped in to save his nephew, Alexander Fries, from the path of the snow plough.

Police bodycam footage captured Fries explaining what had happened to his uncle.

“He went up and turned around, got out to tell me something and then that’s when it started coming at me, like, full force,” he told officers.

“That’s when he tried to jump back in there. Right where his blood is at, that’s right where it all happened.”

“He tried to jump on it, into the thing, and it took him under,” he added.

An emergency call from the incident was also released, which heard the actor’s neighbour telling emergency services that Renner had been “crushed” by the snow plough.

On the call, the frazzled neighbour can be heard asking for the emergency crew’s time of arrival as he explained Renner’s “shallow” breaths were “getting shorter” and that the actor had started to “drift off” to sleep.

Renner lost a significant amount of blood and underwent surgeries with round-the-clock care from medics after he was flown to Renown Regional Medical Centre in Reno, Nevada.

His frantic neighbour, who happened to be a doctor, applied a tourniquet to Renner’s leg to stop the bleeding.

Renner was released from hospital in January and has been recovering at home since then.

The actor opened up about the chilling events for the first time in an exclusive interview with US ABC News anchor Diana Sawyer.

He shared that he refuses to be “haunted” by the harrowing accident.

“I shifted the narrative of it being victimised or making a mistake or anything else,” he told Sawyer.

“I refuse to be f**king haunted by that memory that way.”

The actor also revealed the harrowing detail of him writing his “last words” to his family as he didn’t think he’d make it through.

“I’m writing down notes on my phone. Last words to my family,” he said, holding back tears.

Image credit: Instagram/Washoe County Sheriff’s Office

Dalai Lama forced to apologise following bizarre footage of him and young boy

The Dalai Lama has apologised following the controversy surrounding him kissing a young Indian boy on the lips and asking him to “suck” his tongue.

The exchange, which occurred at an event for India’s M3M Foundation in March 2023, has since gone viral on social media, with the spiritual leader’s office releasing a statement to address the situation.

On behalf of the Dalai Lama, the statement reads he “wishes to apologise to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused”.

“His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras,” the statement said, also saying he “regrets” the interaction.

The leader of Tibetan Buddhism, Tenzin Gyatso, was hosting students and members of the foundation at his temple in Dharamshala, India, where he lives in exile.

In the footage, the boy is seen approaching the microphone before asking, “Can I hug you?”

His Holiness then responds, “OK, come” and ushers the boy onto the stage.

The 87-year-old then motions to his cheeks and tells the child “first here” and the boy gives him a hug and a kiss.

He holds the boy’s arm and turns to him, saying “then I think fine here also”, pointing to his lips.

The Dalai Lama proceeded to grab the boy’s chin and kiss him on the mouth as the audience laughed.

“And suck my tongue,” he tells the boy, sticking out his tongue.

The two press their foreheads together and the boy pokes out his tongue briefly before stepping away as the spiritual leader gives him a playful slap on the chest and laughs.

He can then be seen offering the boy spiritual advice, telling him to “look [to] those good human beings who create peace, happiness” and not “not follow those human beings who always kill other people”.

The clip sparked outrage in India, with some describing the footage as “creepy” and “disgusting”, while his supporters insisted he was just “joking around”, local media reports.

The clip has also gained a lot of traction on Spanish-language social media.

“This video is scandalous,” Colombian journalist Vicky Dávila shared on Twitter. “The Dalai Lama kisses a boy who approaches him on the mouth. The attendees applaud and laugh instead of condemning this aberration.”

In March, the official Twitter account for the Central Tibetan Administration shared a snippet of the second half of the interaction.

Tibet.net wrote, “During his meeting with students and members of M3M Foundation at courtyard of Thekchen Choeling Tsuglakhang, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama advised a young Indian boy to look up to a good human being who always work for cultivating peace and happiness in the world,”

The Dalai Lama made headlines back in 2019 following a sexism controversy after he said that if his successor were a woman, “she should be more attractive”.

Following the sexism scandal, his office was forced to issue an apology, explaining that his “off-the-cuff remarks, which might be amusing in one cultural context, lose their humour in translation when brought into another”.

In 2018 he made waves online after a remark he made on a trip to Sweden, suggesting that refugees should return to their homes and help rebuild their countries because “Europe belongs to Europeans.”

Jurassic Park star Sam Neill appeared on the Today show to discuss his career and new memoir 'Did I Ever Tell You This?' but the hosts had other plans.

Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo and Brooke Boney managed to dig up an old screen test that left the 75-year-old red-faced.

"Oh, my God, no - That is so cruel to play that, so cruel," a flustered Neil said, as footage from his James Bond audition started rolling.

In the video, a young Neill armed with a gun and donning an unbuttoned shirt bursts into a bedroom-to the surprise of a naked woman- and says the famous line "My friends called me Bond, James Bond".

Neill said he was thankful that he didn’t get the part and that someone else was chosen to do the role.

"I felt so awkward all day that we made that thing and it just went on and on and on," he said.

"I am so relieved they offered it to someone else, they are welcome to it - you don't want to be the Bond that no-one likes, you know - that is a fate worse than death."

Although he didn’t get the role of agent 007, the actor has starred in three of the Jurassic Park films, Event Horizon, The Dish and Peter Rabbit.

He also told the Today show hosts that he never intended on becoming a professional actor and his success was completely unexpected.

"I never really imagined I would have a career in film, let alone a career as an actor," he said.

"At the rather advanced age of 30 I suddenly realised I could make a living at what I loved best and I never looked back until I wrote (the memoir) and it has been good to look back - it has been really good for me."

Image: Today Show, Channel 9

Rebel fighters share eerie footage of abducted Kiwi pilot

Rebel fighters in Indonesia’s Papua region have released terrifying footage of Captain Philip Mehrtens, who they kidnapped last week.

The New Zealand pilot touched down in Paro village on February 7th to pick up 15 construction workers who had been building a health centre in the remote Papua province.

The rebel group set fire to the Susi Air plane and released all five passengers on board the flight, but held onto Mehrtens as a hostage.

The group have said they will be holding Mehrtens until Indonesia recognises Papua’s independence.

In a series of videos, released to The Associated Press, a man understood to be Mehrtens is surrounded by rebels holding rifles, spears, and bows and arrows.

“Indonesia must recognise Papua is independent,” he says in one, seemingly under duress.

“I took him hostage for Papua independence, not for food or drinks,” Rebel leader Egianus Kogoya says in another one of the videos.

“He will be safe with me as long as Indonesia does not use its arms, either from the air or on the ground.”

Indonesian officials are believed to be making efforts to secure the Kiwi pilot’s release.

The West Papuan National Liberation Army (TPNPB), who are responsible for Mehrtens' abduction, has also issued a warning to Australia.

“This pilot is a citizen of New Zealand,” a statement from Sebby Sambom, a spokesman for the TPNPB armed wing, said last week.

“TPNPB considers New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, America, Europe, all are responsible. The US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand has supported the Indonesian government, trained The Indonesian National Police, supplied weapons to kill us West Papuans from 1963 to today. They must be held accountable.”

Violence in the region has seen a sharp increase over the last year, with dozens of rebels, security forces, and civilians killed in the name of demanding indolence from Indonesia.

Image credits: The West Papuan National Liberation Army

Stunning footage of rescued baby born during earthquake

After neighbours of a residential area in a northwest Syrian town that was devastated by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake heard the sounds of a wailing infant emerging from the rubble, they rushed to investigate – and discovered a newborn baby whose mother appears to have given birth to her while buried beneath the rubble.

The baby girl was discovered amid the ruins of a five-story apartment building, with relatives reporting that her umbilical cord was still attached to her mother, who tragically did not survive the catastrophe.

Also killed were the baby’s immediate family, making her the only one from her family to survive following the collapse of the building.

Rescuers were only able to find and help the crying baby some ten hours after the quake had struck, and during the rescue a female neighbour cut the umbilical cord before the baby was rushed to a nearby children’s hospital to receive care.

Footage of the infant emerging from the rubble with a rescuer has also appeared on social media, with Twitter user @rami498 appearing to capture the miraculous moment.

ولِدَ تحت الانقاض وتوفت والدته.. جنديرس#زلزال #هزة_أرضية #سوريا pic.twitter.com/DdUeJIDs0w

— رامي المحمد (@rami498) February 6, 2023

The baby is now reported to be in a stable condition despite multiple severe bruising, including a large one on her back. Damning footage filmed by Buxton crash survivor emerges in court

Tyrell Edwards, the 18-year-old driver and sole survivor of a devastating car crash that killed five teens, filmed himself driving dangerously beforehand, according to court documents.

Edwards was driving a Nissan Navara ute when it crashed into two trees near the village of Wollondilly Shire in Buxton on Tuesday night, resulting in the deaths of three girls and two boys aged between 14 and 16.

Appearing in local court on Thursday on five charges of dangerous driving occasioning death, Edwards was refused bail after prosecutors said a video allegedly filmed in the lead-up to the crash showed he had a high level of moral culpability and supported several aspects of the charges.

According to a summary of police facts, Edwards filmed the video with his phone about an hour before the crash, with the clip showing him driving with two of the victims.

He is seen holding his phone while aggressively turning the steering wheel, with loud music playing in the background.

“We’re going to spin out cuz,” a male in the car can be heard saying.

Police allege that, in the moments before the crash, Edwards drove at high speed, lost control, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and travelled for about 40 metres along a grassy road shoulder.

Investigations suggest the car rotated for about 50 metres before hitting a tree then spun in the opposite direction before hitting a second tree.

The force of the impact caused the ute cabin to be torn open, ripping the rear seat from the car and throwing the five victims out.

According to court documents, witnesses overheard Edwards say, “I f***ed up, I’m going to jail.”

Edwards told police after the crash that the ute span out of control following a steering fault where the wheel was “shaking, going left to right”, and that braking failed to stop the vehicle.

He appeared via video link in Picton Local Court after a crowd of family members and friends descended on the court, with the 18-year-old to remain in custody until his next court appearance on November 16.

The court was told that Edwards finished Year 11 last year at Picton High School - the same school the five victims attended - and now works as a labourer.

Picton Magistrate Mark Douglass concluded that Edwards posed a risk to the community and could tamper with witnesses due to his strong ties to the community.

“It’s not an easy decision - he is a young man who has never been in custody,” Douglass said.

Edwards had previously held a driving licence for a short period of time before he accumulated two speeding offences and had it suspended earlier this year.

Outside court, Exaven Desisto, the father of crash victim Antonio, told the media that he didn’t want to see anyone behind bars.

“I’ve got to visit my son at the f***ing morgue,” he said.

Superintendent Paul Fuller, the chief of Camden Police who has 38 years of experience in the force, described the crash site as “one of the worst accident scenes I have ever come across”.

Image: Nine News (Twitter)

Olivia Newton-John’s daughter shares never seen before footage

Olivia Newton-John's daughter has shared a beautiful behind-the-scenes video of a duet she did with her mother.

Chloe Rose Lattanzi shared the video to Instagram of her and her mum singing Window In The Wall at Olivia’s home studio.

The 36-year-old could be seen smiling at her mother as the pair hugged, smiled and began to sing the beautiful song.

“You are my lighthouse mama. My safe place. My heart space. It has been my honor and continues to be my honor to be your baby and best friend,” Chloe wrote.

“You are an angel on earth and everyone touched by you has been blessed. I love you forever my life giver, my teacher, my mama.”

The song was released in January 2021 and at the time Olivia knew it was one that she wanted to sing with her daughter.

“I’ve always enjoyed singing duets more than singing on my own, and when I first heard this song, I knew immediately that I wanted to sing it with my daughter Chloe,” she previously said.

“The lyrics and melody really resonated with me, and I hoped Chloe would feel the same way – and luckily, she did!”

Chloe at the time also knew it was a song she wanted to perform with her mother when she played it for her.

“When my mom played the song for me I knew I wanted to record it, not only because it was with my mom but, I felt the lyrics and message might help people see things from another perspective,” Chloe said.

“We are all part of the same human race and if we listen to each other, respect each other and love each other - for both our likenesses and our differences - we might just understand each other a lot more.”
<blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF;
