Rod Stewart lists $105 million LA mansion

Legendary rocker Rod Stewart has put his mega mansion on the market.

The listing comes just days after the star’s former Malibu home was listed for an asking price of $49.5m (AU$74.2m), with the Wall Street Journal first reporting his current Los Angeles compound is asking for $70m (AU$105m).

With a European style, situated in the gated enclave of North Beverly Park, the property spans 3,065 sqm with a pool and a soccer field.

Although a soccer field is a rarity in LA, it’s no surprise Stewart, 78, is an avid soccer fan.

The 78-year-old was even spotted in Malibu playing football with the Scottish national team on the beach after inviting them to play there.

The Journal noted that according to sales records, Stewart purchased the property in 1991 for $12,08m. He also owns a home in Palm Beach, Florida.

Images of the home showcase Old World-style finishes such as ceiling mouldings and medallions, Corinthian columns, crystal chandeliers and stunning marble floors in various patterns.

The main house boasts nine bedrooms, one being the primary suite with a sitting room and a terrace that looks over the pool.

The main wardrobe is also found in the primary suite — one large enough to store the rocker’s massive show collection.

Elsewhere offers entertaining areas, including a flashy speak-easy with eye-catching jade green-painted walls.

A main-floor great room showcases a bar and a loggia to spend time with guests outdoors.

The listing also includes a three-stories-tall guest house with two gyms.

Michelle Oliver of Douglas Elliman has the listing and declined to reveal why the British icon has decided to sell.

She noted it is suitable for owners who are seeking “a return to maximalism” and for “something that looks different and stands out.”

King Charles’ family friend snaps up historical Sydney mansion

A family friend of King Charles III has snapped up a historical home in Sydney’s lower north shore.

Edward Dawson-Damer, the son of the seventh Earl of Portarlington and equerry (a senior attendant) to the Queen Mother, and his wife Joanne Grant paid an eye-watering $9.325 million ($NZ 10.04 million) for the 114-year-old Dalkeith mansion, per Domain.

The Cremorne home was built in 1908 by English wool merchant and Freemasons grand master Frank Whiddon and sits on an almost 1500-square-metre block.

In the early 1950s, the property was bought by the Norwegian Church Abroad, becoming the Norwegian Seaman’s Mission and providing community services to Scandinavian seamen until 1978, according to the listing.

While steeped in history, their new sandstone home has also undergone major renovations and an extension, which the listing described as “contemporary updates”, including an open-plan layout, modern appliances in the kitchen and an alfresco entertainment area with an in-ground pool and sandstone cabana.

The home also boasts a billiard room that was formerly used as a chapel, with stained-glass windows and the original pew featured.

Inside, the art-nouveau period features have been maintained, and each of the five bedrooms come with adjoining sunrooms.

It comes as an upgrade for Dawson-Damer and Grant, who offloaded their home in Vaucluse for $6.45 million ($NZ 6.94 million) last year.

Images: Domain

King Charles III offloads Kiwi mansion

In an estate that boasts the likes of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, one property belonging to the newly-minted King Charles III is located in a surprising place: northwest Auckland.

But, the documents for the two-storey heritage villa in Hobsonville show the registered owner to be the Queen herself, forming part of an expansive portfolio inherited by the new king.

In actual fact, the home doesn’t belong to King Charles III since Crown real estate is owned by the Defence Force.

As a result, the Auckland mansion, known as Clark House, was used for Royal New Zealand Airforce operations from 1950 to 2016, when they moved out and left the home boarded up and unused.

According to historical records, the Crown paid just £8000 for the home, which now holds a category 1 listing on the Historic Places Register.

The home was built in 1902 to showcase innovative new building blocks created by entrepreneur Rice Owen Clark, whose family stayed in the house until it was sold to the Crown.

During its use by the RNZAF, the house became the office of Task Force Headquarters and even hosted a South East Asian Treaty Organisation conference in the grand rooms in 1955.

Phill Gurnsey, a general manager of estate strategy for Defence, said Clark House had most recently been used as a medical unit, with rooms upstairs acting as offices and the lower floor used for reception and medical testing.

Harcourts agent Graham Lewis said the sale of Clark House was an opportunity to own a piece of New Zealand history that might not be seen again in our lifetime.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a special buyer to purchase a slice of New Zealand’s history from the current owner, His Majesty the King,” Mr Lewis said.

“The building is a fine example of the Italianate villa style. Because of its role as a showpiece, no expense was spared in the building.”

Most of the original features have survived, including the grand staircase, ceilings and carved mantlepieces made with timber from the kauri tree, stained glass windows, a wrought iron verandah and a tiled entry floor.

As a historical building, Mr Lewis noted that potential buyers should be aware of the responsibilities and restrictions that come it, adding that the home could be turned into a lodge or fine hotel, an art gallery, or even corporate headquarters.

“It takes your breath away the first time you see it. This was a supreme legacy to Rice Owen Clark’s beloved family, status and ambitions,” Mr Lewis said.

“I think he’d be pleased that the passion and care of a new owner will bring this home back to its former glory as a historic landmark for generations to come.”

The house will be available for tender until November 21.

Images: Getty Images, Harcourts Realty

She was mistakenly transferred $10.5m – so she bought a mansion

A costly bungle has resulted in two Aussie women going on a spending spree and a cryptocurrency company left $10.5 million ($NZD 11.76 million) out of pocket.

Thevamanogari Manivel received the hefty injection of cash after Crypto.com, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency trading platforms, attempted to process a refund of just $100 ($NZD 111) in May last year.

But, instead of sending through the refund, an account number was entered in the payment section, resulting in the accidental transfer.

Seven months later, the company has launched legal action against Ms Manivel and her sister, Thilagavathy Gangadory, after discovering the error during an audit in December, per court documents.

The only issue is that the sisters have already spent a chunk of the cash.

The court found that Ms Manivel transferred the funds into a joint account last year, before taking out some of the money to buy a $1.35 million ($NZD 1.51 million) property in the Melbourne suburb of Craigieburn in February 2022.

It’s understood that Ms Manivel bought the five-bedroom home - which reportedly includes a gym and home cinema - as a gift for her sister.

The home, which sold on February 3 according to property records, is described as having a “monochrome palette”, four “designer” bathrooms, an outdoor entertaining area and an expansive kitchen/dining/family area with a butler’s pantry, per the listing,

According to the Herald Sun, Ms Manivel sent $430,000 ($NZD 481,000) to her daughter and transferred the ownership of the home to her sister, Ms Gangadory.

Crypto.com has since won part of its legal battle after a judge in Victoria’s Supreme Court ordered that the luxury home be sold and that the $1.35 million be returned to the company, along with $27,369 ($NZD 30,644) in interest and other costs.

It is believed that separate orders have been made for the remaining sum.

Because Ms Gangadory failed to appear in court for the May hearing, Justice James Dudley Elliott said that “the allegations in the statement of claim are taken to be admitted”, after the reasons for his judgement were made publicly available last week.

If Ms Gangadory doesn’t put the property on the market, a receiver could be appointed to arrange its sale or, if she ignores the orders, she could be in contempt of court, as reported by 7News.

“There’s no doubt that if you saw that in your account you would know it shouldn’t be there, and the onus is actually on you to actually call the sender and to say look that shouldn’t have come into my account,” Justin Lawrence from Henderson and Ball Lawyers told the outlet.

“If you’re withholding property of someone else you’re effectively holding property by deception, you’re not entitled to it, you need to give it back.”

The case is scheduled to return to court in October.

Images: Realestate.com.au/Getty Images

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! ABBA’s Florida mansion hits the market

A mansion built specifically for ABBA is up for sale, and its new owners will also walk away with a collection of memorabilia, recording equipment, cassettes, and even a stereo that once belonged to the iconic Swedish pop band - as long as they can afford the $US 3.9 million ($NZD 6.21 million) price tag.

The sprawling home was designed by the stars themselves in the style of a Swedish longhouse and built in 1982 - just before the band officially broke up.

Bandmates Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were believed to have lived in the house until 1986, when it was purchased by an unnamed couple who lived there until they passed away earlier this year.

Even after all these years, the band’s recording equipment and tapes remain completely untouched inside the home.

Lisa Farmer, the listing agent with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, revealed that the architect who worked with the band to design their home had no idea that the two Swedish couples were actually the people behind Waterloo and Dancing Queen.

“We found the architect and spoke to him on the phone. He said he was in a trailer on the site before the home was built with both couples, all four members of the band, face to face, designing the home,” Farmer said.

“At the time, he didn't realise it was ABBA until a few days later when he got a call from a reporter in London who apparently got wind of it.

“He said he met with two Swedish couples and that's how he found out it was ABBA.”

Farmer added that it was “super cool” that there were things left behind from the band that were never even used.

“There's some stereo equipment that the people who bought the house never even used,” she said.

“It's in this one area where [ABBA] might have done some recording. There's an actual ABBA cassette that was left inside the cassette player.”

The six-bedroom home on the island of Tierra Verde features a “community space with two-storey vaulted ceilings” according to the listing, as well as two identical wings on each side, complete with a master suite, loft area, and two bedrooms with jack-and-jill bathrooms.

Recent upgrades include a new roof with skylights, battery-ready solar panels, renovated guest baths, and a fresh coat of paint.

'[The band] specifically requested a Swedish longhouse design. It's got a really neat central, common living area that's big and open with a really nice stone fireplace,” Farmer said.

“What's kind of unique is that the two wings on both sides of the house are exactly identical and symmetrical.

“The layout of the home is pretty special and just makes for a great house for somebody who would like to entertain or has a big family.”

Images: Getty Images / Sotheby’s International Realty

Inside J Lo and Ben Affleck's massive new marital mansion

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially tied the knot and it seems they’ve celebrated their nuptials by living large and purchasing a lavish new property.

The two stars were spotted house hunting back in May, and in June, it was reported that they had settled on a stunning Beverly Hills mansion that was once owned by Danny DeVito.

While the couple has yet to confirm if they have purchased the property, moving vehicles were also reportedly spotted outside of each of their respective homes, leading many to believe that they have now moved into the mansion together.

Lopez and Affleck's rumored new abode was most recently owned by Australian billionaire James Packer, who's the former fiancé of Mariah Carey.

DeVito and Perlman sold the seven-bedroom home in 2015 for $28 million to developers Stuart and Stephanie Liner. The Liners then made numerous upgrades to the estate and listed it for $85 million. Packer then bought the property for around $60 million in 2018.

It's unclear what Lopez and Affleck paid for the house, and there's a shroud of mystery surrounding the deal, since the house was not even listed for sale when they reportedly bought it.

In fact, real estate experts have said it hadn't even been shown off-market, with the exception, potentially, being to Lopez and Affleck.

The house sprawls across 29,000-square-feet, which would allow ample space for the couple's blended brood of five children.

The massive estate is also said to have many luxury amenities and perks, including an at-home movie theater, a hair salon, a gym, an entertainment room, a wine cellar, a sprawling pool, and even multiple guest houses.

The marble kitchen is a chef’s dream, complete with two ovens, an 11-burner stove, two islands, and multiple drawers and cabinets for optimal storage space.

The spacious dining area can seat up to 12 people, so the family will certainly have enough space to stretch out during dinner time.

The master bedroom is fit for royalty and comes with an enormous walk-in closet with rows upon rows of storage for the couple's glamorous wardrobes.

The mansion sits on 1.29 acres of land, and it also comes complete with an eight-car garage.

The couple was spotted shopping for homes around various swanky areas of Los Angeles for several months before reportedly making the purchase.

Images: Hilton & Hyland

Mega mansion with odes to Hollywood hits the market

A mansion on the top of a mountain with “million-dollar views” of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland has hit the market - but its unique interior could be its biggest drawcard.

Not only does it come with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, it also boasts its own medieval throne room, a Wild West-style saloon bar, and a Hollywood-style theatrette.

Ray White Beerwah agent Alex Garden said the property, known as Chateau Cedarton, was built by a concreter who wanted his own mega mansion.

“It is really unique,” Mr Garden told realestate.com.au. “In its heyday, it would have been a really cool venue.”

The medieval throne room, styled with stone tiles to create a classic castle look, is complete with two full-sized replica knights and leads into the 25-metre-long red-carpeted theatrette, decorated with Hollywood-style movie posters.

The Wild West-style saloon room features timber panelling, appropriately-themed wall art and a cellar.

Other internal features include a sauna and spa, as well as a formal reception area, statement kitchen, formal dining room, space for 10 cars, a pool/rumpus room, and a commercial kitchen and laundry.

Outside, the 16.19-hectare block boasts just as many interesting features, such as Roman columns, a pool with its own public bathroom, and replicas of European fountains.

There is also a wraparound verandah, a resort-style pool, a gazebo, fruit trees, three dams, and a workers cottage.

According to the listing, the home has complete privacy despite being surrounded by large acreage homes and “hosts scenic breathtaking million-dollar views”.

After spending a weekend at the home more than a decade ago, owners Victor and Lana, who have asked for their surname not to be published, said they fell in love with the property.

But, their plans for transforming the home were put on hold after Victor suffered an accident which saw him undergo extensive rehabilitation two months after they moved in.

“We had huge plans for it and we did open it as a function centre, restaurant and accommodation for a while, we also had visits from the elderly, from retirement villages and children with disabilities,” Lana said.

“And our direction changed towards that, towards helping people who needed some peace and tranquillity.”

With COVID-19 lockdowns keeping them away from half of their family in Victoria, the couple then decided it was time to sell - giving them the opportunity to move south and start their new business venture.

They have freshened up the home ahead of the sale, softening some of the Tuscan palette to create a more neutral vibe.

But, they have left its unique rooms untouched.

“That’s what makes it so unique,” Lana said.

They hope that the next owner has their own vision for the property, as Lana says the estate has “so much potential”.

“It needs someone with some big plans and the ability to make them happen.

“The views, the privacy, the grounds, the possibilities are endless.”

Images: Ray White

Image: ITV

Though we know very little about the home - besides it also boasting a swimming pool and tennis court - Ramsay’s time in Cornwall has been anything but uneventful.

In 2016, he infuriated his neighbours and local community members while engaged in a eight-month planning battle with council to bulldoze another Cornwall property which housed a 1920s-built home called Lanarth.

The Michelin star chef won his fight, levelling the home and replacing it with a new mansion which he still owns.

Even more recently, Ramsay sparked ire among the seaside community after appearing on radio and saying: “Trust me, I absolutely love Cornwall, it’s just the Cornish I can’t stand.”

Image: @gordongram (Instagram)

Why this massive mansion is selling for peanuts

A dilapidated 11-bedroom mansion in Upstate New York has been likened to the 'Amityville Horror House' and sitting on the market for years. The home recently had a price cut to $US 495,000 ($660,000) for those brave enough to live in it.

Abandoned for 70 years, the home is eerily secluded on almost seven acres of land on Carleton Island, close to the Canadian border, with water views from three sides.

Despite the attractive, cheaper price tag, the property will likely need a million dollars' worth of work to transform it to its glory days. While there is a stone foundation, the wood frame upper floors have "deterioration" and there are no bathrooms.

But even if a buyer with deep pockets is out there, there's the creep-factor to contend with, something Reddit is quick to point out with users branding the home a "demon mansion", "haunted" and "super creepy".

The mansion was built by architect William Miller in 1894 as a summer vacation home for businessman William O. Wyckoff.

Wyckoff had made his millions helping the Remington Arms Company develop their version of the newly invented typewriter, according to House & History.

Unfortunately, it was never the dream home Wyckoff hoped it would be and in 1895, after spending just one night in the home, he tragically suffered a heart attack and died at the property. This was just a few months after Wyckoff's wife also reportedly died of a heart attack.

The home was then passed down to their son, who used the estate until about 1927.

The Great Depression hit soon after and the family lost much of their fortune. They sold the villa to General Electric, who took ownership in the 1930s with hopes to use the property as a company retreat but those plans were also abandoned thanks to the first World War.

According to the listing, contractors were then allowed to go in and remove materials such as doors and windows, essentially looting the property. The marble cladding from the tower base was also taken.

The home was left to the elements, which leads us to its state today.

Image: Domain

Police seen outside Will Smith’s mansion

Police were seen outside Will Smith’s LA mansion a day after he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Smith’s home in Calabasas was attended by officers on Tuesday afternoon, who confirmed the actor had called the cops himself, The US Sun reported.

It is alleged that a drone was seen flying over the mega-mansion but by the time police arrived it had disappeared.

The police department also confirmed that no report was filed by Rock after he was assaulted by Smith.

At the Oscars, Rock joked that he was looking forward to seeing Pinkett-Smith star in a sequel to G.I. Jane - the 1997 film starring Demi Moore as a bald Navy SEAL recruit - apparently referring to Pinkett-Smith’s bald head.

Smith shocked the crowd and viewers across the world when he stood up from his seat, walked up the stage and slapped Rock before sitting back down.

“Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me,” Rock said as Smith walked off.

Smith then yelled back, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth”.

Smith took to Instagram where he publicly apologised to Rock for slapping him on-stage.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” Smith wrote in a screenshot shared on Instagram on Tuesday.

“Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

“I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.”

LA Police released a statement confirming no report was filed by Rock but an investigation could ensue should he decide to.

"The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report,” the statement read.

"If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report."

Image: Getty

Famous mansion from Scarface hits the market

The mansion that played the prominent role of Tony Montana's home in the 1983 classic Scarface is on the market for $55 million ($USD 39.995 million).

Named El Fureidis – which means 'tropical paradise' – the estate is the home Tony bought in the movie after he offed Frank Lopez and became the cocaine kingpin of Miami. It's also where Tony, played by Al Pacino, ultimately meets his violent end.

Designed by renowned turn-of-the-century architect Bertram Goodhue, the gorgeous 10-acre grounds feature layered gardens, specimen trees, fountains and pools to give grandeur and romance.

Goodhue's design, which pairs a classic Roman villa with Persian water gardens, has hosted world-renowned celebrities and thought leaders, with the likes of Einstein, Churchill and JFK having spent time at the elegant estate.

The seven-bedroom, 6.5-plus bathroom stunner was last bought in 2015, for a third of its then-asking price.

After languishing on the market for a year, the elaborate estate's $USD 35 million hopes were dashed, and the price was dropped to $USD 12.26 million.

At the time the buyer, investment banker Pradeep Yohanne Gupta, stated the home's cinematic association was merely "a data point," according to WSJ.

The home underwent a multimillion dollar renovation since the iconic Oliver Stone film, although none of the interiors from the film were shot here. The refurb modernised the living spaces and kitchen, while retaining many of the original fixtures.

Remaining luxurious details include a main 'conversation room' in "a Byzantine-style alcove crowned with an 18-foot-high central dome that is decorated with a floral hand painted, gold and blue design in 24k gold-leaf modelled after the church of St. John Lateran in Rome," according to the former listing.

The formal dining room features a barrel ceiling "painted in 24k gold leaf and depicting a scene of Alexander the Great conquering Persepolis by Henry Wadsworth Moore," with the artist's original signature on the artwork.

There are also views of the Pacific Ocean and even the Channel Islands from the estate.

The area is known for its A-list residents. Santa Barbara County is home to the likes of Oprah, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, to name a few.

Image: Domain

French billionaire snaps up famed Parisian mansion

One of Paris’ most famous homes has sold for an eye-watering $314 million ($NZD 387 million).

The Hôtel Lambert, a luxe mansion owned by Qatari Royal Prince Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, has been bought by Xavier Niel in an exchange that would likely be a small spend for the French tech founder, who has an estimated worth around $12.2 billion.

Though most would expect that Niel would be living in his new palatial home, the New York Post reported that a source close to Niel said he is planning to use it as the headquarters of his cultural foundation instead.

Prior to its sale, the prince bought the UNESCO World Heritage-listed property from the Rothschilds for a reported $150 million back in 2007 - but sunk even more cash into it over the 15 years.

Image: Wikimedia Commons

According to reports, the Middle Eastern royal gained ownership of the Hôtel Lambert when it was in a bad way, and invested a further $200 million into structural renovations.

Just a stone’s throw away from cultural icons including the medieval Notre-Dame, the Hôtel Lambert is a cultural landmark in its own right.

Constructed in the 1640s and designed by Louis de Vau, a favourite architect of King Louis XIV who assisted in designing Versailles, the structure features extensive frescoes by Charles le Brun - who decorated Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors - and other works of art.

Image: Wikimedia Commons

Naomi Osaka's stunning new mega-mansion

Naomi Osaka, former World No. 1 tennis player, has forked out $8.7 million (US$6.3m) for former boy-band star Nick Lachey's LA home.

This isn't the first time the famed athlete has bought a home from a pop star. In 2019, Osaka splashed $9.5 million (US$6.9m) on buying Nick Jonas' 90210 pad.

The San Fernando Valley purchase happened off market, according to Dirt, and appears to be a tidy pay day for Lachey and wife Vanessa. The pair only lived there for a year after buying the house in late 2020 for $7 million (US$5.1m).

Nick Lachey is best known as the former 98 Degrees boyband singer, Jessica Simpson's ex-husband and co-host of Netflix's Love Is Blind.

Osaka is well placed to indulge in luxury real estate. Forbes estimates the Japanese-Haitian tennis superstar's income reached $83 million (US$60 million) in a single year, making her the highest-paid female athlete of all time.

Located in LA's Tarzana neighbourhood, the East Coast traditional-inspired manor was newly built in 2015 and boasts an outdoor feature Osaka was no doubt drawn to – a sunken sports court.

Behind a double-gated driveway, the home welcomes you with manicured front garden and driveway parking for a dozen or more cars, plus a four-car garage.

Interiors feature a large gourmet eat-in kitchen with dual islands, a formal dining room sports wainscoting and a patterned wallpaper, a lounge area with beautiful coffered ceiling and fireplace and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

There's a media room that acts a second comfy lounge room and a "parlor games room" that in listing photos is equipped with pool table and wet bar that can easily seat five sports fans. There's also a movie theatre.

All five of the home's bedrooms enjoy ensuite full bathrooms, with an additional two powder rooms in the residence. The upstairs main suite comes with a fireplace, private balcony, private sitting room and dual closets.

Year-round outdoor entertaining is also on offer, with a covered loggia including fans and a fireplace.

Outside, the resort-style backyard has grassy lawns, a fire pit, stamped concrete patio and a dark-bottomed pool. Plus, there's also a bar and built-in BBQ for summer get togethers.

The best feature of the roughly 2,800sqm property, and no doubt part of the reason Osaka was keen to snag the home, is the aforementioned sports court.

Images: Domain.com.au

"Truly life changing" moment sees new mum win a mansion

Just months before their daughter’s first birthday, a young family has seen their fortunes change dramatically - all because of a £10 lotto ticket.

UK resident Becca Pott won an extravagant $7.1 million, allowing her and her husband to move with their newborn baby from a camped two-bedroom apartment into a sprawling five-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion.

The 32-year-old, who hails from southeast England, entered the Omaze Million Pound House Draw and was the lucky winner after buying a ticket for just $20.

But the family almost missed out on the prize.

“My husband [Ben] had entered every Omaze Million Pound House Draw prior to this one, but somehow he’d forgotten on this occasion,” Becca told Jam Press. “But luckily I decided to buy a £10 ticket bundle in January without him knowing after seeing the house on television.

“I’m never going to let him live this down!”

Prior to their win, Becca was on maternity leave from her job as a financial analyst after giving birth to Ava, their eight-month-old daughter, last summer.

Their new white stucco home in the upscale neighbourhood of Ascot features views of a private garden, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and high ceilings throughout.

“The house is incredible. We’ve been wanting to move to somewhere bigger since our daughter Ava was born, now she’ll be having her first birthday in a mansion,” Becca said.

“We didn’t have space for her grandparents to come and stay in our two-bedroom flat, but now they can have the entire third floor when they visit.”

Not only did the couple win the home, the prize also covers all property taxes and legal fees associated with it, and comes with an extra $40,300 to help them settle in.

Becca and Ben are also free to do with the home as they wish, with the option to live in the house themselves, rent it out or sell it out.

For the moment, the family will enjoy their win before deciding what they’ll do heading into the future.

“This win is truly life-changing for us,” Becca said. “We’ll stay here and enjoy the house for the summer at least, but whatever we decide to do, we know Ava is set for life.”

But the couple aren’t the only winners from the draw, which raised nearly $729,000 for Cancer Research UK. The donations will help the charity fund projects such as TRACERX, the largest genetic study investigating how lung cancer evolves and why treatments stop working, Jam Press reports.

The draw is also backed by the charity’s long standing ambassador, Ronan Keating.

“So many of us, myself included, have been affected by cancer,” he told Jam Press.

“I’ve been a proud supporter of Cancer Research UK for many years and have seen first-hand the difference research makes to those affected by cancer.”

Images: Omaze UK (YouTube), Jam Press/Omaze
