Eight-year-old cancer survivor pushed down stairs at NFL game

Mia DeCamilla, an eight-year-old 49ers fan and cancer survivor was beyond excited to attend her first ever NFL game on Sunday.

DeCamilla inherited her love for the team from her father, saying: “Me and my dad, [when I’m] in the hospital, we’ll watch football together, and then when I come home sometimes for breaks, I will sit down and just relax and watch football all day. That’s what I like and how I made my team.”

The young girl - who battled and beat liver cancer twice - attended the event at the Highmark Stadium in New York Decked in 49ers red and a hand-drawn sign that read “I beat cancer! My first NFL game!”

What should've been a night to remember turned into a nightmare situation when DeCamilla was shoved out of her seat and down the stairs by an allegedly drunk Bills fan, following the team's win.

Her father, Mike DeCamilla told local news outlet WIVB that he saw the fan making his approach and heard him saying “‘I’m going to push through all these Niner fans'."

“He actually bumped me and my son a little bit and then got past me and pushed her. [She] almost slid off the stairs…

“He had to be six foot, and she is less than 100 pounds … I know that there’s competitiveness and whatnot, but there’s a point where it’s a family event.”

While DeCamilla was not physically hurt, her family said they decided to leave the game after the incident.

Her mother posted the incident on social media, and it has since gained traction, with many outraged over the adult fan's behaviour.

“Mia DeCamilla beat cancer and wanted to go to her first football game and it ended poorly," one fan wrote. "Great game to go to, but what horrible fans.”

“This cancer survivor got pushed down the stairs at a the bills game last night. I’m furious," another added.

Buffalo fans have since rallied to show the family support, with many of them donating to a GoFundMe that was organised to ease the burden of DeCamilla's treatments, with the fund reaching over $20,000.

Retired NFL cult hero Antonio Brown also commented on the situation, writing on X: “Is it true this little girl got thrown down the stairs at the Bills game? Someone get me in contact with Mia’s family please. I want to get her some gear.”

The team’s official supporters group, Bills Mafia, also rallied behind the family, writing on X: “So sorry to hear about Mia’s experience at the game yesterday.

“We all know one bad apple can ruin the bunch. Let’s show Mia that her experience yesterday is NOT what #BillsMafia is about.”

Despite everything that happened, DeCamilla didn't let the incident ruin her night.

“My favourite part was getting to see Brock Purdy,” the young 49ers fan told local radio station WHAM.

“He’s my favourite player and I have his jersey, too.”

Images: X/ Facebook

Mamma Mia! 3 receives confident update from producer

Mamma Mia! Here we go again!

Judy Craymer, the creator and producer of the beloved musical comedies, has revealed there could be a third instalment.

In an interview with Deadline, discussing the Mamma Mia! I have a Dream talent show on ITV, Craymer shared a confident Mamma Mia! 3 update.

"It’s in its earliest stages... I don’t want to over-egg it, but I know there’s a trilogy there. There is a story there, and I do think Meryl should come back — and if the script is right, she would, I think, because she really loved playing Donna,” she said.

Craymer’s comments come after a long line of remarks made about a possible third movie, with her saying in 2020 that it was always "meant to be a trilogy."

Even though the producer said it's in the early stages of development, it’s unclear when there will be an official announcement from Universal.

Familiar faces Stellan Skarsgård, Christine Baranski, Lily James, Dominic Cooper, Colin Firth, and Pierce Brosnan have all expressed interest in returning to reprise their respective roles.

Craymer also revealed in her interview that she has come up with a way to bring back all the franchise’s favourite characters, including the iconic Meryl Streep.

Bringing back every member of the franchise’s massive ensemble cast might be why the third instalment has made little progress in recent years, but Craymer remains confident that the next instalment will go ahead.

View from the hot seat: Mike Tindall's insight into Prince Louis' antics

Going down as one of the most memorable moments from The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Mike Tindall has revealed the reason behind young Prince Louis' cheeky behaviour.

Tindall says the four-year-old prince had "complete sugar highs" during the Jubilee Pageant on Sunday after consuming handfuls of sweets behind the scenes.

In full view of the world's media, Prince Louis was seen putting his hand across his mum's mouth, trying to shush her as she attempted to tell him to sit still, making a funny face and blowing a raspberry in her direction.

Kate swiftly put Louis' hand down, before he did it again with his left hand.

The little prince was excited throughout the parade, running up and down the seats, pulling his cousin's hair and eventually jumping onto his grandfather Prince Charles' lap, for a quick break.

Tindall was photographed jokingly warning Louis that he was watching him from the seats above.

Two days earlier Prince Louis stole the show during Trooping the Colour, pulling a series of funny faces as the rest of the royals watched a flypast of aircraft from the palace balcony.

Tindall, also revealed the Queen's grandchildren and their families enjoyed a private lunch after Trooping, describing it was one of his highlights from the four-day celebrations.

He spoke about the Jubilee and Louis' mischievous antics on his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.

"Louis, he was just wanting to have fun, and my two [daughters] are always mischievous, so it was trying to keep a lid on," Tindall said.

"There was a lot of sweets out back, though, so they had complete sugar highs. It's tough for them. They're all young, so asking them to sit, because it was two 'til five or whatever, it's a long time.

As any parent knows, you just do whatever needs to be done."

Tindall was seated directly behind the Cambridges at the Pageant with his wife Zara and their children Mia, eight, Lena, three and Lucas, one.

Prince William and Kate later joked about their youngest child's actions, writing on social media, "We all had an incredible time, especially Louis".

Image: Getty

The last few months has been a whirlwind for the royal family, with scandal after scandal plaguing every step they take.

This time, just days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcing they would be officially “stepping back” from their roles as senior members of The Firm, one of the royal family’s most popular and under the radar members has been banned from driving for six months.

Zara Tindall, who is currently in Australia with her husband Mike and their children, Mia, five, and Lena, one, for the Magic Millions polo event, has been banned from driving after being caught going a whopping 36 km/h over the speed limit near her home in Cotswald.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Windsor krónikák (@windsorkronikak) on Jan 2, 2020 at 11:09am PST

The Queen’s eldest granddaughter was caught driving at 91 mph (146 kmh)in England - a speed well above the maximum speed limit of 70 mph (112kmh).

Zara, 38, was driving her Land Rover at Daglingworth, near Cirencester, in November when she was caught speeding.

After failing to show for court, she was fined £666 (AU$1250), plus ordered to pay legal costs and a victim surcharge of of £151 (AU$275).

The offence means Zara has lost four demerit points. The surprisingly normal way royals plan their get-togethers

The royal family may enjoy the luxurious lifestyle that comes with being born into nobility – but when it comes to sharing news and planning get-togethers, they use the same method as any regular family.

In an interview with Good Morning Britain, the Queen’s grandson-in-law Mike Tindall revealed that the royal family uses a WhatsApp group to organise their gatherings.

“It’s just what you do to try and set up get-togethers, or if we are going to something that is the same,” said Tindall.

“If you are going to go, ‘Are you going to take the kids?’ Quite a lot of people have family WhatsApp groups. I don’t think it’s a new revelation.”

Tindall, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, confirmed that he found out about the birth of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s first child Archie Mountbatten-Windsor through the WhatsApp group chat.

When asked if he has had the chance to see the baby, Tindall said: “No, we still haven’t managed to get together yet. Everyone seems to think that we’ve all been round but it’s just not that way is it?

“Hopefully, we will get to see him soon, but it just doesn’t work that way. But at least he’s happy and healthy and they’re happy.”

In an interview with Mirror Online last year, the former rugby union player said he was in WhatsApp groups with some of the royal family members due to his wife’s cousin relation to Prince William and Prince Harry.

“Me, my brother, and then a few of Zara’s side like her brother Pete and the cousins are on WhatsApp groups,” he said.

“I wouldn’t say we’re cutting edge, but it’s just easier for some reason on WhatsApp.”

Zara Tindall reveals secret trauma

She welcomed her second daughter Lena in June, but Zara Tindall has revealed she suffered a second miscarriage shortly after losing her unborn baby in 2016.

In an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, alongside her brother Peter Phillips, Zara said the loss happened “really early on”.

The Queen’s eldest granddaughter has previously revealed she suffered a miscarriage, but not her secret second heartache.

“I think you need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw,” she said. “But, as with everything, time’s a great healer.”

She explained that going through her first miscarriage was tough as the pregnancy had to be made public, as is the rule for descendants of the Queen.

“We had to tell everyone and it’s like, everyone knows — that’s the hardest bit,” she said.

“That’s why I think a lot of people don’t talk about it because [a miscarriage] can happen early enough or it’s only your group of friends and your family that know.”

But when Zara lost her second baby, she and her husband, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, were able to mourn in private.

The 37-year-old equestrian said mourning was easier for her when the miscarriage happened earlier on in the pregnancy.

“I think a lot of the time you’re lucky if it happens a lot earlier,” she said.

“It’s something a lot of families are affected by but then, hopefully, a lot of the stories I’ve heard, they’ve gone on and had more children and they’re very lucky.”
