Matt Damon photobombs Brisbane charity event and donates large sum

<p>Movie superstar Matt Damon, 50, surprised guests at a domestic violence charity event in Brisbane and made a generous donation.</p>
<p>Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso, 45, have spent the last few days in Queensland and attended the event for Safe Haven at the Calile Hotel on Friday.</p>
<p>“My mum founded a charity fighting domestic violence. During a fundraising lunch, Matt Damon dropped in and donated $10,000,” in a since-deleted post on social media network Reddit read.</p>

<p>Damon is currently in Australia filming<span> </span><em>Thor: Love and Thunder</em><span> </span>alongside Chris Hemsworth, which is something Damon is "so excited" about.</p>
<p>“I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months,” he said.</p>
<p>“Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it.”</p>
