Prince William teases Duchess Kate: "Pretty much ruined it"

Prince William and Kate have stepped out for their first joint event after welcoming their third child on April 23, Prince Louis.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked excited to be out together as they attended the first Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in London.

The royal parents met with contemporary artists Dario Varagas, who offered them both the opportunity to have a go at painting.

William volunteered his wife to go first, claiming that “she’s the arty one”.

However, after Kate had finished her addition to the painting, William drew laughs from the crowd for saying that she’d “pretty much ruined the picture”.

For the engagement, Kate wore a classic long-sleeved lilac dress by designer Emilia Wickstead.

The 36-year-old paired the dress with nude heels and a pale lavender handbag.

William dressed up in a black and white suit.

The couple both wore recycled outfits to the event.

When the duo arrived at the event, they were met by cheering fans who waved flags.

Last week, Kate returned to royal duties, marking the end of her six-month maternity leave.

The mental health summit, which is co-hosted by the UK government and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, saw several experts and political figures come together to address the stigma surrounding mental health.

Mental health is an issue that Kate, William and Prince Harry all feel passionate about, with the trio spearheading The Heads Together campaign through their official charity The Royal Foundation.

The campaign, which empowers experienced charities to work together, continues to encourage a healthy conversation around mental health.
