What happens if you ignore the seat belt sign
<p>Whether you’ve been overcome with a sudden urge to answer nature’s call or simply being obnoxious, ignoring the seat belt sign is one of the major in-flight sins.</p>
<p>But what happens if someone ignores the seat belt sign?</p>
<p>Well, according to Annette Long, a flight attendant with 13 years of experience who was recently quizzed by <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com.au/" target="_blank"><em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Business Insider</span></strong></em></a>, there’s not a lot that the crew can do to stop passengers who are intentionally ignoring the rules.</p>
<p>“When a seat belt sign is on but it's smooth, some people don't listen. They want to go to the bathroom - they don't want to be rude and ugly - but they want to go to the bathroom, so they get up to go to the bathroom,” Long explains.</p>
<p>“Well, I'm not going to physically force you to stop. I'm not going to tell you ‘No, you can't go to the bathroom.’ I'm just going to inform you, because I'm required to inform you, that the captain still has his seat belt sign on, and I don't think it's safe for you to be up. And then they usually say, ‘Well, I just have to pee.’”</p>
